    I always thought sanctuary city meant that the police and state authorities would never prosecute anyone for being illegal. Didn’t realise it meant the ICE agents couldn’t operate there. Surely in the FBI caught say a cartel member who was there illegal, they could then be processed as an illegal by ICE. Complicated lol

    I’m 5mins in on looking at this SABRE and it’s doing my brain in lol Mach 5 is around 9-10k km/h you need 11-12k km/h to reach escape velocity (I think the Saturns were hitting 13+k km/h). So that final push when it switches to rocket is what will give it the extra oomf to reach low orbit. It’s still carrying a fuuckton of fuel though. So weight, thrust, parabolic trajectory, distance will still be the same as conventional? Or am I wrong?

    Maybe one of the scram jets could achieve it in a thin atmosphere but you still need conventional to get there before engaging them and don’t they scrams work by forcing air in for combustion? So will the new design need something like a two/three stage engine system with extra oxygen. One conventional to take off and then a scram to get up above the atmosphere and then just something simple for positioning/direction once there? So those scalar and vector classes mean fuuck all in this new world then!

    Aye that. So have to get above to the thinner atmosphere to get beyond the pressure wave problem. Now that’s interesting. How to achieve that, without creating a boom on the way up or burning more fuel than a tanker.

    But a sonic boom is a pressure wave, not engine noise. How can an advanced engine overcome that? Fuselage design can minimize it but it still exists until you have no medium.

    I’m a firm believer that travel will go that way. Hypersonic in my humble opinion is the realm of out in space. The sheer energy needed to take a plane to those speeds within an atmosphere is mental, let alone materials to withstand the forces and temps. Charts or maybe you will be able to confirm this. Didn’t concord expand at full Mach cruising speeds so much you could get your hand in the joints? With heat expansion.

    Agreed but the ticket price is comparable with todays biz class. The ground systems/staff/maintenance crew etc should’ve been factored in to make it viable, even if it put it on par with first class these days. Kinell how much is one of those new suites on Emirates or Singapore nowadays? Around 10-20k depending the route no? I only have an idea on pricing ‘cause I like to watch those Avgeeks on YouTube

    The fuel bill must’ve been huge though. Hence the price. But in fairness, surely the price back then for a seat was comparable to todays business class.

    A well bred mastiff breed mate or maybe one of the Caucasian/kangal types. Where in the Bible does it say Aliens don’t exist and space travel is impossible? What it does say in both old and New Testaments is that the earth is the center of the universe and yet we know that’s bollocks, proven bollocks.
