Fortunately we Scots don't see our nationality or identity destined for football match's or bumper sticker its destined for greater things If the height and strengh of your nationality is only destined for bumper sticker I despair for you!! I always thought England was far better than that!! and set its heights much higher Tom

No need to rant about oil revinue it was found in British waters if and when Scotland gains independance what's left will be in Scottish waters including the reserve's that are'nt finanacially viable to exploit at the moment? but future technology will solve that problem!! Also Scotland has other industries that create massive wealth, science and technilogical industries, whisky, tourisim (people travel from all over the world to see the Iru Bru Loch's the Shortbread Mountains next to the Cairgorms and The Scottish Blend Tea Resevoirs!! I find that the above comment in bold really offensive! I have no problem with English born members of the Scottish Parliement and would never personally discriminate against anyone who's not Scottish, different religeon or creed! John Keswick wrote: Tom, you scots obviously hold a grudge dont ya? You are talking about shit that happened 100s of years ago, get over it... You dont hear us banging on about how the Normans or Vikings invaded us. Now as i previously stated, i am fine with Scotland being its own country, if thats what you want, then fine. BUT if you no longer want to be part of the UK then you should be completley self sufficient on all matters and not take hand outs from the english taxpayers! Thats reasonable enough isnt it? Or do you want to have your cake and eat it? You have your own gov

Looked at the link and read the thesis! my conclusion is, its a lot of pish and nonsense! nationalism in Scotland has nothing to do with religous bigotry! (fact!!). Over half of UK Labour's pledges in their current UK/national manifesto they can't carry out in Scotland? as those pledges are a matter for Scotlands devolved government and the Scottish tories have no chance of a good result here, at the minute they're only sitting with one mp in Westminster!! John Keswick say's: "Foxgun Tom, we talked previously about scotland and where that was heading, if you want out, that’s fine, but

You could find yourself in trouble especially with the knife and cartridges in the car and no gun if it appears that your not using them for their specified purpose ie: cleaning/gutting game (knife) shooting (cartridges) Its not illegal to transport cartridges from A to B You would'nt leave a shotgun in your car all the time so! why cartridges and a knife? Don't give yourself hassle by getting stopped by plod answering awkward questions about why you have a knife in your possesion, it might lead to you being charged and subsequently losing your SGC Be safe and appear responsible by ta

Swampy, Swampy, Swampy, you've disapointed me:doh: There's only ane T in scots, not twa Tom A true and honest post Tom.atb. Catcher You scotts always stick together eh? FGT is right. The pope is supposedly elected as Gods representative on earth. Bring the tin of worms into the equation in relation to God...........lets not go there! However his final paragraph is correct and right. On a point of order. All Christians are catholics. The pope is head of the Roman Catholic bit

As a non-catholic I was lucky enough to vist Rome a couple of years ago and was lucky enough to secure an offer of a Papal audience which I attended with my wife who is Roman Catholic! As a member of Church of Scotland (Protestant) I deemed the offer as a great honour and my wee mrs was over the moon As a non-catholic I took no part in any religous aspects of the audience This visit should be seen mainly as a pastoral visit for the UK's practicsing Catholic congregations, should go ahead and be treated accordingly, The paedophile priest issue raise's the question of the Pope's infa

boycott these game fairs
Foxgun Tom replied to zigzag dan's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
Not all game fairs are shite!! but those are in the minority? The organisers of last years Yorkshire Game Fair put out over £2,000 in trophies and rosettes on the Lurcher and Terrier show's over the two days. I and the organiser of the dog events gave out a substanstial amount of complimentary entry tickets and free camping to members of this forum and other sites, basically we wanted to give something back to the ordinary lads and lassies that supported us over the years. We will be doing the same this year All the dog events were a massive success! Every Game Fair has to appeal to -

Sporting Lucas Terrier (neutered)
Foxgun Tom replied to Foxgun Tom's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
hunting (if it has hunting drive etc.) is something that is in a working terrier genes because of his ancestors and the breeding behind it. neutering of a dog does only effect his hormones, and maybe his dominance against other dogs if he was dominant because of his hormones and not because of its genes. many people who buy working terriers as a pet ( ) think when neutered a dog will give up hunting..they know nothing about dogs. something that is genetically preserved in a dog can not be sorted out by neutering. best regards That's what I've always thought!! Tom -
The tories getting in power within a general election will not affect anti-hunting legislation its a devolved issue!! and I can't ever see the conservatives ever being the governing party in Scotland in my lifetime Tom ps: I'd rather be poked in the eye with a sharp stick than vote tory , they did more damage in Scotland outwith Labour's anti-hunting legislation

Foxgun Tom replied to swandog1's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
Neilston Working Dog Association (NWDA) are pleased to anounce details of their annual Lurcher & Terrier Show, May 9th 2010, This year is special!! because the top terrier at Neilston this year will win an all expenses trip to Ireland in particepation with The Great Game Fairs of Ireland to take part in "THE FIVE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL TERRIER CHAMPIONSHIP" As in every year we own a debt of gratitude tooGilbertson & Page (dog food manufactures) and their Area Manager Mrs Joan Hutchinson who have been the main sponsors of our show’s since its creation. Further great news for this year -
I've just taken in a 10 month neutered Sporting Lucas Terrier, The pup's parents are both working, any terrier I've owned/worked in the past, has always been intact, I personally can't see how him being neutered his gonna affect his working ability? does anyone have experience of working a neutered dog? I've taken him on because he's a fiesty, confident (stands his ground with other dog's)His previous owners got him neutered gave up on him because of dominance issues? He bullied and cajoled their other Lucas Terrier (their words) and to be honest they did'nt have a clue about the breed or t

cancelled shows
Foxgun Tom replied to events co-ordinator's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
Some response eh!! Info that is relevant was given! about show's being cancelled, by whom and the reason's sometimes given!! You've taken umbrage personally? co's you've been promoting Selby in previous posts (how many times have you been to Selby? I never seen you all the time I attended!) and manning the SACs tent at previous show's Tom Ps:it's funny when some-one takes a different perspective on things especially when they were at the forefront of organising a show (SACS Working Dog Show 2009), they suddenly need therapy -

Would you ike to elaborate and go into detail in your statement above!! and of my connections with any of the above organisations, Obviously you have an agenda or issues re; me? (are you a volounteer with sac's who'll be attending Selby?) I'm prepared to discuss any matter concerning the above in public and with members of this forum especially if it affects them?. I must stress though I have no personal issue with BASC as its a shooting organisation rather than a hunting one Tom Ps: you forgot to mention the other organisations I'm no longer a member of eg: The Boys, Briga -
cancelled shows
Foxgun Tom replied to events co-ordinator's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
The thread is about cancelled show's which leave many people disgrunteld Some event organisers are notorious for cancelling show's and so are fieldsports organisations indeed Sac's and SGF Ltd pulled out of a show last year at minimal notice causing a great deal of upset and confusion to members and the general public! The SACs game fair in conjuction with SGF ltd, left peopled like "Visit Scotland" "Scotlands Tourist board who where organising " The Scottish Homecoming Celebrations 2009" in the shit! by cancelling the event at the last minute and not informing them! This game fair was bil -
Please don't call me son, I'm probably old enough to be your dad or grandad I never said you were an anti? It was yourself the jumped on the inference, (why??) it was you that also used classic anti-hunt retoric eg "You go hunting and you moan about violence" and then backtrack and also try to re-enforce your original comment when you get a reaction, with eg: :"No I'm not mate bt just saying people in glass houses should not throw stones. I'm not here to argue " I really could'nt give a flying f@ck! who vouche's for you, I have'nt a clue who you are and definately don't want

Sorry!!!! but I don't think I'm thick or violent but just where's the proven connection between hunting and people being violent?? That sounds like anti propoganda and an argument anti's would use!! "all hunters are violent physcopaths" which is a lying piece pish!! Tom You go hunting and you moan about violence
