  1. The old adverts for black&white whisky with decent working breeds look better than today's adverts with the west highland and skye terrier eg:
  2. Thought I'd share some of the prints from my collection depicting Terriers, Greyhounds coursing :clapping: etc: you'll never see the likes of this type of advertising again! (more's the pity!) If anyone has anymore images of working dogs in advertising I for one would like to see them, Stick them up!!!! Tom
  3. Who said the dog was a staffy X? if this is what it say's on the summons and its factually incorrect? the summons is wrong as the description and breed or breeding of dog is false! Your solicitor should look closely at the wording of the summons and mention the anomaly at any hearing! it might be enough to get it thrown out as the dog's identity is now in doubt? Tom
  4. You do seem to have done everything right after the event and that's a credit to you! You will definately get a rebuke from the court for the dog being off the lead, the other guy's injury could have been caused when he kicked out and got scratched, could it be assumed that even his own dog inflicted the wound the @rsehole is complaining about? (your arguement) If your in Scotland make sure you see a solicitor the first 1/2 hour interview is free and you may be entitled to legal aid in certain circumstances?, If this guy admitted kicking and lashing out at your dog to the police? he m
  5. Feck!! I've heard everything now! "and the judge should not be blinded by a dog thats got no jaw on seen loads" All the finalists were judged on the following criteria: 1/ condition, 2/confirmation, 3/ wether fit and bred for purpose. No dog should ever be discarded in a working terrier event if its marked up or scarred? but, a dog with no jaw cannot hold onto its quarry and therefore would autimatically be marked down as its no longer fit for purpose! Who was gonna judge the dog's on a day out to see if they're tried and tested (the judges of the final?) who was gonna pay t
  6. Why does'nt your latest post surprise me? as well as a liar and a welcher you really are as thick as feck! you've just referred to me as an Englishman eg: "ock aye ye sasanack" Nothing wrong with being English(far from it) but if your gonna try and insult me? at least try and get my nationality right Sassenach is a word used chiefly by the Scots to designate an Englishman. It derives from the Scots Gaelic word "Sasunnach" meaning, originally, "Saxon" Tom Ps: the William Boyd part of my name is Irish on my Mothers side, it was her Grandfather's name, he was Irish! and your rig
  7. In response to a couple of pm's and E-mails that have been sent to members of NWDA in relation to this post! please don't confuse this incident with any show in the village of Neilston run by "Nielston Working Dog Association"!, We have never had an incident as described and to date no owner or any working dog enthusiast as ever been made not welcome or asked not to return to any show we organise! As far as I know the lady known as the events co-ordinater has never organised a terrier show in Neilston either to my knowledge or to the the lads in the NWDA. I have yet to have the comm
  8. I made an accusation that some-one is a liar and a welcher and renaged on giving a charity £100 after they bet a certain dog would win? therefore effectively conning us and robbing the charity out of desperately needed funds!! My signature eg: "Thomas William Boyd Chalmers" Tom
  9. A belter of your first and only post so far spitandspade did you only come on under another name dogman71 to reinforce your post! Lets just say I have judged in the past and had over 40 years involvement with the working terrier, This concept of the five nations working terrier champion was mine! but I never asked to be the Scottish judge and I won't be doing it again other people put forward the notion of me judging!! I'll tell you what if you are dogman71 give bada-uk the £100 and if you want consider judging the championship in the future and I'll even introduce you the Scottish t

  12. I said I was'nt going to reply on this thread again but Dogman71 has left me no option because of the shite he's posted here and elswhere on the forum! This is my reply to his post on another thread: First of all no Terrier Judge at Harewood travelled down to Harewood with me from Scotland and spent the weekend with me, The terrer judge your reffering to is the terrierman from The Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire Hunt and his very much well respected for his integrity and honesty as a lot of Scots lads will tell you! Secondly This Judge you mentioned had never met the person you've nam
  13. First of all no Terrier Judge at Harewood travelled down to Harewood with me from Scotland and spent the weekend with me, The terrer judge your reffering to is the terrierman from The Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire Hunt and his very much well respected for his integrity and honesty! Secondly This Judge you mentioned had never met the person you've named before in his life!! (Fact) Thirdly, there is no 9 and a half year old dog in this champion ship representing England (Fact) You made a bet that a 9 and a half year old dog will win the five nation's championship, I bet you a hu

  17. Sorry Lads, posted in the wrong thread! Tom
  18. This will be my last and only post on this particular matter, until after the final! I object strongly to the accusation that this final is fixed or compromised! its an attack on me personally,on my integrity and honesty as the organiser and senior judge! and for all those who took part in the competition to date! and those who have so far qualified All qualifers went through stringent judging to qualify! and some had to go through more stringent judging than than other's!. All the qualifier judge's were terrier men of some standing and integrity which you insult as well? How can you f
  19. I'm realy disapointed about being unable to attend! I was kindly invited by some of the organisers to what seems is gonna be a crackin wee show? but unfortunately I've just got too much on this month and I need to keep my little Mrs, sweet!! This show deserves your support as it benefits a lot of youngsters and channel's their energies into rural pursuits and respect for the countryside and each other! So!!! if you can please, please please go along!! and show your support I hope the prints donated by the lads at "NEILSTON WORKING DOG ASSOCIATION" go down well and help the club

  21. As usual I had a great time myself along with Doohan and one of the "Neilston Boys" Bobby Johnson who was one of the lurcher judges I've just arrived home Monday, 7.55 pm we spent a wee bit of time clearing the field of rubbish and dismantling the marquees, Noel it was a pleasure to see you again and the other lads and I'm sure we'll have a few beers and a good craic at Birr? As for leaving the small knives at home it was Danny to blame! I borrowed his knive to cut some cable ties and would you belive it I feckin stabbed myself? it smarted and hurt and the blood was pouring as if I was a stuck
