Hi Barrie Glad to see your comments! and I'd like to re-iterate I have notheing but the greatest respect and admiration for the "NWTF" and you personally!! The problem here is that the NL&RC were ignorant of the issues here in Scotland, despite!! them being made aware of it. I as a Scot's terrier man cannot show my working terrier which is legally docked/microchipped in England! at a show in Scotland because the organisers of that show are imposing the tail docking law's of another country (England) that's just a nonsense and fudamentally wrong!! BASC don't run The Scottish Game Fair at Scone!! therefore they are not responsible for not running a Lurcher show there!!! Tom Has BASC given a legit reason as to why they won't hold A Lurcher show at Scone? Also why is it that the NLRC only have One show in Scotland, not as large as any in Enlgand or Wales?

Its not that I like confrontation! its the fact that tail docking legislation from another part of the UK is and was forced/foisted upon us here in Scotland by an organisation that has'nt a clue!!:censored:and was ignorant of the fact they were doing wrong. The may also have discriminated against myself and fellow Scot's (a matter which is way far more serious if applicable?) If there is a case for discrimination it could mean the whole commitee of the NL&RC are responsible and liable and not just one person? Just had an irate lady from the NL&RC (Linda Vaughan) on the phone re: this post!! She wanted to know why I had'nt raised the issue in the last four years, I stated I raised the same issue last year!! and the advert in the CMW was not the same wording as previous years? I also informed her I had taken legal advice this morning and have a further apointment tomorrow!! the tail docking issue aside, what really pissed me off was that the NLRC were trying to and have in the past? imposed legistlation that is contradictory to Scots law in relation to the showing of certain breeds (docked te

I sent this of to Dukie tonight I have investigated the matter of the show that the NL&RC are holding at Cardross I have spoken to a number of Terrier club Secretarys and taken legal advice here in Scotland the terms and conditions of the show may be illegal!! and a proposal was put forward that we take legal action in Scotland against the NL&RC because of their proposal to enforce legislation that is in place in England and Wales and does not apply in Scotland therefore we as Scottish terrier men cannot exercise our legal rights in Scotland on matters that are a devolved issue

First of all the header is not an insult its a fact!!! I'm pointing out your wrong my own club Neilston Working Dog Association holds a terrier show every year at the same time as Cardross NWDA is also a member of ofThe National Working Terrier Federation The concept of "we took advice from the NWTF who told us that we should air on the side of caution and not include terrier puppies at any show where the public pay to come in to the show. The show at Cardross is a pay to enter Game fair" Is Wrong!! There is no such restriction or impediment is in place in Scotland I might be wrong

I certainly remember speaking to you but it was'nt at the Scottish Game Fair co's I was in hospital when Scone was on! I also was'nt involved personally in any adverts in the CMW I did what I said I would do! spoke to the members involved and left it to them to address the matter with you!! If the Moderators will allow me to post this twice? in this section and in the Gamefair and event thread, as it's important that its seen by as many folk as possible In Scotland there are no restrictions on showing docked pups, or dogs of any age that are docked but!! it is unlawfull to dock pups BASC and The National Lurcher & Racing Club are holding a Lurcher and Terrier event at the BASC Game Fair at Cardross on May 8th In their advertising the NL&RC state "No terrier docked after 21st March 2007 to be shown" It's not illegal to show docked Terriers in Scotland!!!
