  1. I've responded gimmee a call Tom
  2. First of all any post on this forum is and the poster is looking for some affirmation or reply to their post I don't agree with the post that starts this thread simple! and I've stated my reason's why! Lurcher Lass!! You and your dog rescue are to be commended in the fact! that you have done your utmost for many years to rehabilitate and re-home probably thousands of dogs over the years and long may it continue I can't see anyone better at the helm of that particular ship and thank you for the personal comment "I've valued your support in fund raising from the time we met on Moochers"
  3. The latter quote has fecked me of as well "I'm very conscious of the fact some of the "working dog folk" look down on us rescue peeps as poor relations and think we're worth taking the piss out of -" I donated a couple of items to two very good cause's in an auction run by Kay and others on the HL I travelled at my own expense to drop items of personally even visited Englandshire I am certainly not one of the "Working Dog Folk" who looks down on rescue peeps (most do a terrific job ) and neither are the people who who successfully bidded for the items! and I certainly don't thi
  4. But has it??? all charities get cash donations! have they all been donated for a bulding fund? I don't think so!! every charity does and could use cash donated for a number of things eg: petty cash, sundries, printing etc: Who is gonna dig up a dog welfare charity for spending cash on vet bills? this particular charity has numerous fundraising events and also sell's merchandise!! Ther'e sitting there with cash in hand and need 2K for a pups vet bills which they instigated and authorised and they then have audacity to ask joe public specifically to fund this individual pups vetinary care?
  5. For us thicko's that can read I bow my head in shame as your right I did'nt read the Charity Commisoners website in its entirety and humbly apologise But your wrong in saying "No'one from Greyhound Gap has asked on this forum for donations, I, mistakenly it appears, thought I was doing them a favour." I appriciate you were doing them a favour but there is an appeal on here from them! and they are asking for money and its noted by them!! If Greyhound Gap does'nt mention working homes? is it safe to assume they don't want to acknowledge there is such a thing? Tom
  6. I don't think they're being dishonest just hypocritical You cant honestly say that they don't get cash donations that could not be used to cover vetinary costs for this pup? and its not just the comparison between humans needing similar medicines what about the other dogs in their care that need re-homed? rather than spending two grand on a pup which is stricken with parvo and probably suffering? and may not survive? use the two grand for the benefit of the other dogs!! Tom
  7. I've been in the Charity Commisions website and this charity seems to have lodged acounts for financial years ending 31 Aug 2008 and 31 Aug 2007 but nothing for 2009 is this normal? I know from my days being self-employed I had to have my accounts submitted by a certain date to the relevant authoroties are'nt charities bound by the same conditions? Tom
  8. I am a dog lover but I'm not feckin stupid enough to pay somebody else's vet bills for a dog that may well not survive any way? The owners of this pup (this Charity) made a decision to spend thousands of pounds on drugs that some humans are crying out for and expects other scources to pay for it ie: members of this forum. They have funds put aside for another project ask yourself this what's more important to them bricks or mortar or spending cash they allready have? in an effort to save this pups life? The greedy b@st@rds want their cake and eat it I had a GSP bitch that unfortunat
  9. Exactly Polski This is a registered charity thats commited to spending 2k on a ten week old pup with parvo virus! There's no certainty that the pup is viable (will survive) would the two grand not better being spent on the other dogs in there care that need re-homed Tom
  10. Nobody is more giving of charity than me!! but, I could'nt believe this either I have a close friend whose terminally ill with cancer and one of the drugs she's on is inteferon, a very expensive drug. There's been case's of people dying including kids :realmad: because their local health authorities say they're treatment was so expensive and they refused to fund it! thankfully some courts overruled some of those decisions I'd rather send my £1.00 or two to, Cancer Research or The Childrens Hospital at Great Ormond Street (both registerd and more deserving charities) I may be wrong? but I thi
  11. I've treated them and have been drying out on the radiators under the wooden radiator covers she's been feckin about with air fresheners all over the house wondering what the pong is! I told her maybe "the dogs brought something in" , There's about 14 tails scattered about the house  . There for my brother in law and his mates who are all members of the tartan army and they'll wear them in their glengarry's (hats) once they're cured Tom
  12. DERRY LOVE STORY An elderly man lay dying in his bed. While suffering the agonies of impending death, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favourite scones wafting up the stairs. He gathered his remaining strength, and lifted himself from the bed. Leaning on the wall, he slowly made his way out of the bedroom, and with even greater effort, gripping the railing with both hands, he crawled downstairs. With laboured breath, he leaned against the door-frame, gazing into the kitchen. Were it not for death's agony, he would have thought himself already in heaven, for t
  13. Sounder I've got hundreds of books some given by friends and the best one's either bought by myself or at second hand bookshops, A few times I've been hospitalised due to illness or eg: a serious car accident about 12 years ago where I was in hospital for nearly six months and another eighteen months recovering!! Reading for me is very theraputic, but its funny now! the Grandkids are here!! time to read especially during the summer months as got less and less Tom

  15. Its legal if its roadkill and its been mounted You must have relevant paperwork from the taxidermist or seller Its also legal if the specimen was mounted before the Badger act came into play but you must be able to prove this is the case? Below is the link to the Badger Act: Tom http://www.opsi.gov.uk/ACTS/acts1992/ukpga_19920051_en_1
  16. No membership organisation should be or can be seen representing anyone who was not a member of the organisation when their revocation ocurred please everyone don't be the victim of misinformation!! Sac's already got involved in a revocation case in England on behalf of a lad who's a member on this forum and made a complete @rse of it the lad lost all his guns and felt he was badly let down!! this is a post from another forum from the same member who is on here: see below Tom I Dont want to reply to this thread but i feel i must as my name keeps poping up its only fair that i do s

  18. If you have'nt been banned by the courts from holding a certificate and have'nt served a prison term of more than I think! its 5years? your entitled to apply I'll get that confirmed I have a friend who served an 18 month prison term for serious assault 20 years ago and I and some associates helped him get his ticket back!! All requests for a firearm or shotgun cerificate are supposed to be treated as individual? and on their own merit. Look up the home office guidelines on Google Tom
  19. Same thing happens in Malta! I seriously doubt any roughshooter would consider shooting songbirds if they were on the list I certainly would'nt especially as a lot of them are in decline? many used to be shot in orchards in the UK years ago especially thing like bullfinch'es not as a potential food scource but because they were regarded as Pests Tom
  20. My Nemisis!! but a great character and a good lad at heart!!

    All the best, nnnnning

  21. Foxgun Tom

    legal?

Swamps! what your doing is legal catching it and then dropping it on purpose live for the dog to course or catch is'nt Tom Showing my ignorance here but I was sure you can bolt rabbits with a ferret and chase 'em down with a dog. Blimey have I been breaking the hunting ban? Oooops rgds Swampy criminalning
  22. He might be able to offer advice? but the organisation (SACS) can't do anything ie: represent you retrospectively if your not a member!! He got involved in a case down south for a member on here and the lad lost his ticket despite all Ian Clark's assurance's Tom
  23. Foxgun Tom

    legal?

It is illegal!! you could be charged with causing unecessary suffering you've already caught the rabbit and then you want drop it for the dog to chase!! you'ld be pushing your luck for a defence if caught? If your training a pup find a bit of land with some rabbits not too badly affected with myxi easy for a pup to catch! or take it out with an experienced dog it'll soon catch on!! Tom
  24. Totally agree:thumbs: The only people who should take show's seriously are the organisers everybody else should treat it as a bit of fun, and a day out with like minded people, share the craic and a few beers Tom
  25. I've got two of the modern equivalent sounding poles without a hook! as used by the water companies when trying to find leaking drains or water mains these are steel rods with either a wooden concave, or aluminium hollow earpiece Stick them in the ground if your electronic locator is'nt working and the sound of a dog baying underground resonates and vibrates the steel rod, helping you to locate exactly where your dog is if modern technology fails Tom Ps: mines are promised to fellterrier of the EDRD show fame Probably Norfork spades at a guess. That sounds right . Long-h
