  1. sorry tom but i disagree the lad was asked 3 times not to take the dogs out but obviously thought f**k her so where does that show respect, yes he has given some money towards his f**k up but i reckon he see,s his mother as a soft touch and his thinking is i ,ll give her the money as i know i will get it back , There is no doubt the youngster was in the wrong, on that we both agree but to say the lad thought "f**k her" or that he see,s his mother as a soft touch and his thinking is i'll give her the money as i know i will get it back! is also a bit harsh? which one of us can say
  2. That's a bit harsh "EASTENDERS!!!! " Tracey's a Corrie or Emmerdale fan Tom
  3. I'd give it back sometime in the future!! dog fights can happen anytime even between kennel-mates:blink: I know your angry but the lads a credit to you , he's shown a degree of maturity and integrity in accepting responsibility for whats happened by giving you his cash He's also learned a valuble lesson? he'll take more heed of what you say in the future because of whats happened. I've got two lads, one of 23 and one of 27 and if they had made an offer or gave me cash at the age of 15 years for something like this I'd be well chuffed:boogie: it show's the lads remindfull and respectf
  4. Hi Gemma I see this is your first post and welcome aboard Just one wee point it might not be a good idea to post telephone no's to complete strangers on the forum All the best Tom
  5. I hope all the guests appreciate my new avataar its legal, offensive to the great unwashed (antis) but a real icebreaker for starting a conversation Tom
  6. Spot on Big Boss If you have'nt done anything to worry about you don't need to hide or advertise what you do ? Tom Ps: I really could'nt give a toss about the number of guests, they don't impact on me or what I do. Why do some people have a phobia about numbers of guests if! we appear to stay within the rules? "No dodgey photo's, no careless talk" If your prone to being the centre of negativity and get a pull by the plods or anyone? its your own fault!! it's nothing to do with the admin, mods or the forum its about individuals who want to be seen as something different from the majo
  7. They are quite a bit longer in the leg but I think they must share a common ancestory and earlier lines Tom
  8. It seems they're scent hounds either work on mainly wild boar or deer, but I also assume they'ed be good on all quarry species fox etc: they will work as a single dog or as part of a pack Tom Ps: adult ragging a dead boar: Pps: adults holding wild boar at bay:
  9. Having a tidy up of my book collection in the loft I came across a book called "Hippy The Story of a Dog" (a Dachsbracke! these are hounds not terriers!!) dating from 1943 and written by a former British Ambassador to Germany before WW2 who was very much into hunting with dogs?? I thought a Dachsbracke was very much like a teckel, but there does seem to be major difference's. Does anyone on the forum have any experience of this breed and seen them working? Below is a short movie of Dachsbracke pups playing with a deerskin and one in particular seem's as keen as mustard See link:
  10. Waste of time decoying pigeons in the snow unless its a light covering over brassicas (sprouts etc:) better off finding a flightline and try shooting in a wood if they're feeding on beechmast etc: Tom
  11. You would'nt be breaking the law if the rifle and or shotgun was in a slip providing you hold a current shotgun or firearms cerificate and the weapon is unloaded!!, its entirely up to the carrier (bus or train company who, or what they allow to travel?) They may have more concerns about ammunition rather than the rifle or shotgun after all they don't necessarily know whats in a gunslip? I personally would if using public transport use a carrying case rather than a gunslip I'd rather not draw attention to myself Tom Ps I do know of case's where a succesful prosecution has been
  12. Because!! I work GSP's, I expect them to do what they were bred and designed to do as with any HPR breed "Hunt Point and Retrieve! If any of my dogs was'nt able to do all three and!! each ability is important as the next?. If any of my dogs is unable to do any of the above? my personal opinion is that its not worth having? Tom Ps: The above comments are my personal opinion on HPR breeds! it no way detracts or suggests any other gundog breed is inferior it's (horse's for course's)
  13. Thanks for the reply and I do acknowledge, you were in no way responsible for the removal of the original post! I also acknowledge that you do appear to be trying to promote Lurcher and terriers in the republic All you can ever do is ask the lads in the know what they want? listen to them and take their advice , it appears you are trying to do this? but you'l never please everybody!! I've never been to a Lurcher & Terrier show in the republic despite having had an invite to Ballinlough by the organiser's, Unfortunatly the invitatation collapsed, when I resigned as Development Of
  14. Promotion/profile and interest should be drummed up at the smallest lurcher and terrier club show, throughout 2010 to the largest countryfairs, it should be about the ordinary working dog enthusiasts who must also be seen as voters and members of the public same as everyone else and not about raising the profile of any large organisation, eg:SACs, BASC, CA etc: if there's enough interest their support will follow?, they won't want to be left behind? I'd hate any of those bugger's to make massive amounts of money from us to cover their salaries and unpopular junkets? Tom
  15. I don't know wether my experience or lack of it is a factor? I think a march is a good idea depending on its focus and emphasis If anyone is hoping a march will help repeal any anti hunt legislation, I think they're being a wee bit niave? If the march was seen as a celebration of working dogs involved in centuries old rural pursuits!! and the climax of any march was to hand in a petion in support of hunting with dogs!! I think it could be seen as more acceptable to an ignorant and ill-informed public? I think the emphasis should be, after years of draconian legislation that "Were' still he
  16. They're side tracking you? and want your support for their campaigns, rather than the other way about!!They also have a blinkered view about how politics work in other parts of the UK? The Tory's will never be a majority party here in Scotland and our anti hunting legislation is decided by a Scottish Parliement. I can't see The Countryside Alliance promoting the campaign below here in Scotland, Tom Again!! they want your suport to strengthen the MFHA's posistion but the will not help out at grass roots level (Feckin Tossers) Tom
  17. Mushroom!! never mind pm's about the CA's response just tell us publicly on the forum!! Remember this is the same group that abandoned their appeal against anti hunting legislation in Scotland!! I'd walk over hot coals in support of ordinary lads in a march to promote working dogs but I'd do b*gg*r all to promote the Countryside Alliance Tom Ps: I bet you they ain't interested as they don't want to rock the boat before an election??
  18. BASC who the feck are they?? ( hunting ban had no effect on that particular organisation in any shape or form?) I work GSP's!! did they do anything to safegaurd the HPR breeds " Did they Feck???? they had no interest in any of the original march's they never gave a feck about working dog's unless it was a lab or retriever they only appeared as part of a numbers game?? Tom Ps: At the time their insurance would'nt cover you for shooting over hounds?? If its changed BASC members please enlighten us??
  19. First of all I attended all the march's and rallies in London, was at Parliement Square, Brighton and Inverness plus the March on the Mound in Edinburgh I also attended the last Waterloo Cup and the Declaration for Hunting day!!! I'm fully supportive of any action that will help and that includes taking part in action that draws attention to unjust laws in relation to any anti-hunting legislation The only negative's I can see at the moment? is lack of organisation and numbers. In the past we should have carried on the momentum and closed the streets and commerce down in London and other are
  20. Paul!! If you get the tickets for the racing same as last time? I'll be there Tom Grab your coat Tom i think you've pulled lol. Only joking mate, i didn't think you needed an excuse to get pis**d mate. Are you coming down again in January for another day at Doncaster races??
  21. I see this a lot on other type of forums? members meet up and have a bit of a craic!! is it feasable to do the same here? a number of members, say!! from Glasgow meeting up in the town or say Cardiff or liverpool members meeting up in their town maybe once a month (does'nt have to be at Xmas time)and who knows maybe a couple of members travelling to a different town, anywhere in the UK just to socialise and share a love of hunting and working dogs? or a hunting weekend? Tom
  22. Its illegal to take a litter of pups over the border from Scotland to England for the purpose of tail docking!! However its perfectly legal to take an expectant bitch south of the border and if she whelps in England? the pups can be docked and brought back to Scotland!! Tom thank you for that mate the repy i got was he had them done in england some were funny really how it changed but i did read it right on here the were done by a vet in scotland
  23. In Scotland there are no restrictions on showing docked pups despite a ban on tail-docking Tom
