I'm certainly not gonna knock the SGA for not holding a Lurcher and Terrier show? its unfortunate but I suppose thats life I just think this new gamefair is gonna have a limited audience rather than appealing to everyone? Tom Ps: It could also have a limited selection of traders for eg: I have a friend who specialis'es in custom made kennels terrier/ferret box's etc: I informed him of the potential of the show? and how it may have been of some benefit to him and the SGA if he traded at Ingilston? After enquirering and weighing up the cost of stand space, wage's travelling from E

Its not a question of pleasing everyone its about including a large section of the rural pursuits community! (lurcher and Terrier men) as a member of the SGA, I and others offered our service's and expertise at organising a working dog show at Ingilston on March 6/7th 2010 Lurcher/Terriers and Gundogs!!! our offer of assistance was declined? it was a majority decision not to hold a Working dog show, other than that no other reason was given?? My understanding of e-mail below is, "its not that a working dog show could'nt be held it's that one would'nt be held?) see below: Tom Ps: I

Nothing to smile about or to be happy in fact a "wee bit of a disapointment" unfortunately!! probably the only game fair run in conjuction with a national organisation with angling being the main focus and that won't be having a Lurcher or Terrier show?? bit of a shame because its an innaugural show as well Tom Ps: its not even advertised as the SGA gamefair on the main organisers website: http://www.nelton.co.uk/Template1.asp?PageName=Scottish Game & Angling Show 2010 Main organisers seem more interested in Woodwork or Angling shows? no wonder they ain't interested i

I think William is or maybe better known as Bill?? Tom

The Scottish government has been pushing this for a while!! and it will get the powerto do so!! You are niave to think Scotland won't get more adminstrative powers after the "Calman Report" (the nationalist Government took no part in this!! tories, labour and liberal's did!!) but if it happens? it will only affect us and not you. Tom Ps: Why post a thread that does'nt affect you? it may be a devolved issue!! Scottish legistlation has no effect on French, Dutch, German or even the rest of the UK Firearms law at present, but it looks as if we Scots may be in the shit SACs will be

terriermen and working terriers John Broadhusrt
Foxgun Tom replied to flash28's topic in Hunting Book's
Well worth the money I've got a signed copy by the author John himself and some of the lads who have a chapter or mention in it have also signed my copy Tom -
Where did the post go? and why? I responded to it last night in a humerous manner and it looks as if its been deleted? was it something I said? or did my comment hit a nerve? Please Mods!! I would expect a reply to this curteous post or will this too be deleted? All the best Tom Ps: It appears Albert J is allowed to promote his game fairs on the HL and rightly so!! but a long standing member of the HL is not allowed to criticise his other post in relation to the same game fairs. Valid and polite debate was made on both side's of the coin and yet what could have been an

Young Joe!! Your a genius and that's a cracking job, spot on and the fact you'll consider making me a net like that for my birthday present in May 2010 is very kind Kidding aside your knowledge of countrysports and enthusiasm for the same! in some-one as young/ astounds me everytime , your Mam will have you knitting bed-spreads next All the best Tom

Tried to register with my usual user name "Foxgun Tom", this message came up!! Error: You must enter an alias that consists of alphanumeric characters and no spaces. Have'nt a clue what the above means? The register page is also asking for a mailing address (probably my home address) and telephone no: both piece's of information I'm loathe to give , for obvious security reasons, Can I not give that information personally in an e-mail to the person with the winning bid in any auction items I donate?? I see you've got a Lanarkshire & Renfrewshire Hunt website badge I got 25 of those made up and thats all, therefore there as rare as hen's teeth!!. I gave a youngster one of those at the Galloway country fair a couple of years ago for the start of his badge collection and told him to hold onto it, as they're quite unique next thing I know is "the little fecker" is selling it on E-bay and gets £30 for it seems he was selling his small collection to buy a play-station! It made my piss boil but you've got to admire the kids initative Tom

you can copy and paste mine if you like I'm sure if /when you do they will be word for word Take a look, yours: Mine: "Thank you for your message. Hello Mal Thank you for contacting me. I'm sorry to hear you are unhappy with the story that has been in the media recently. We are big supporters of the Help for Heroes campaign and we sell the pin badges and wrist band in hundreds of our stores. We were shocked and surprised to hear of an incident involving one of our colleagues at the Rochdale store. We are not aware of any incident of this na

Even though I don't agree with some of David's political views!! he's one of the most genuine and giving of people His commitment to terriers and the working dog enthusiast is limitless. His writings and the magazine EDRD magazine have encouraged and inspired many people to commit to their dogs and the rural pursuits we all love and cherish! If there was such a thing as a civil honour for the promotion of terrier work and commitment to the people involved? the lad should deservedly have had an MBE by now Tom Ps: I think I deserve a free subscribtion to EDRD now!!

witch public liability insurance should I go for
Foxgun Tom replied to pikey2983's topic in General Talk
More misleading comment's? "Sacs is the only one that an ordinary member gets legal insurance cover" SACs is not the only organisation that offers fieldsports enthusiasts legal insurance cover!! "the lawers they use are the best in the business" This is a reply on another forum from Whinchester who most definately disagrees on the quality and definition of their lawyers? I Dont want to reply to this thread but i feel i must as my name keeps poping up its only fair that i do so . 1) All the firearms people need is hear say it dont matter wheather its wright or wrong i w -
Taken from the we don't stand together thread: If the hunting ban is repealed in England and Wales? mark my words "it will only be to the benefit of organised packs and the MFHA!! it will not be repealed in favour of Lurcher or Terrier work and it will be licensed?" I'm not spreading or advocating any type of division here only stating the obvious?? and we will be asked by the powers that be (countryside alliance) for our support again? I'm not giving it if its to the detriment of the ordinary lads and not for the benefit o

But some are more equal than others!! The first and last Hunt Ball i went to, i got looked down at as i did'nt speak with a plumb in my mouth. Sad but true, i was snubbed by most . it would have been worse if you had both plums in your mouth I'd have to be double jointed to get my plums in my mouth Tom

I personally don't like driven shooting of any kind, wether pheasant or hare but I would support an individual and defend his right to do so, as with any legal activity!! I enjoyed my terriers for over 20 years, still out now and again with the lurcher lads, I've also shot since I was a kid aged nine, I'm now 52 and I also ferret, I enjoy them all!! but not, one takes precedent over the other. each to their own with my full support,. I might not agree with some-ones politics but if I share a common bond in the support of rural pursuits I'll back them in that! I don't have to like their metho

Obviously the above is "bollocks!! over 400,000 us stood together on the liberty and liveliehood march, wildfowlers, terrier/lurchermen, stalkers and anglers from every part of the UK stood shoulder to shoulder and accepted each others differences Its people like you who cause and advocate division by comments like yours eg: "I find it hard to make a case for carp fishing or driven pheasant shooting other than it is entertainment for humans ,but i dont oppose it. i detest driven hare shooting and bagman foxes and dont ever ever ever ask me to stand united with the people who drive
