Howdie all, ive got my ticket through for me .223 now, and have found the one i want. now i intend to reload (for the cheapness of it) i have been given 100 remington cases that currently have the old primers in them. i was looking at geting the lee's breech lock challenger kit, is this all i will need for reloading ? (other than the dies for the .223) and a good book, i was looking at the Speer Reloading Manual maybe. also for cleaning the cases, i see that some kits use ground down wood, can i use a sonic bath that i have accses too at work for case cleaning.

i brought a left handed 3" mag in black the other month, cost me £370 had 3 outings with it so far, each pushing 200+ carts rangeing from 28g to 32g (noting major i know) and its jammed 4 times in this period, 3 of them were on the first outing it fires the first and ejects it but didnt align the new cart properly but after a bit of lube its been fine.

hmmm your a bit far away from me (200miles), but its exactly what im looking for. Has it got the winter pack on it? Millage? Optional extras?

I like the look of the old defenders but they are stupid money at the moment, and i think that a discovery will be a bit to large for what i need, i mean i go round the farm in it, but the rest of the time its too and from work, with the odd long trip to bisley which is where i thought maybe a short wheelbase shogun would be ideal for. Maybe i should re-think to a landy (and i suppose the advantage of a landy is loads of aftermarket gear made for them)

went out with .22 the other night

Sound Moderators, are they really required?
AzMaN replied to andyf's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I noticed this the other day, i though "wounder what my .22 actualy sounds like without a mod on" it was alot louder than i thought it was going to be, and also the POI droped about 1/2in at 25yards without the mod on and i think it was grouping a bit wider than with it on but that might not be true. I'm putting in for a variation in a few weeks, for a .223 and 6.5x55 and i will put in for a mod on both of these just for my hearings sake. -
Howdie all you wise peole, i have come to pick your brains In the not so distant future, i shall be in the position of upgrading my little corsa for something that i can actualy take off road (without ripping all the trim off ) I was just woundering how many people own a SWB v6 shogun, and what peoples opinions of them are, any common faults, mpg ect ect. all the best az

will you be doing a deal on all 3 when they are avaliable?
-
guys down are raange use them, and similar for practical shooting. I personaly wouldnt take them out in the field though, a rifle or shotgun seen by most people as normal, but a sub-machine gun lookalike may get you a bit more interest from the local bill. just my opinion of course.

ive been looking at the hatsan escort also, ive rung about 4 differnt gun shops asking their opinions and i basicaly get the same answer from them, that there was a few quality issues with them when they came out which were quickly ironed out and now for the price they are a pretty good gun.

Hi fellow shooters hope your haveing a good season so far. Now i wish to pick your brains a bit, ive decided that when my full membership comes up at the local shooting club im going to put in for a variation, i decided on a .223 for vermin fox and target but then for deer and long range target i was looking at the 6.5x55 but id like your opinions on what its like as both a stalking tool and a long-range target tool (talking 600 - 1000 yards).

my .22lr has been open from day 1 (although day 1 being about a month ago).

I have a CZ 452 in .22LR. I tryed it with and without the eric brooks triger kit, and i much stay it is soooo much better with the kit, its light, but not too light as to be set off when brushed against.

chap at the gunshop i was talking to said that OFF THE SELF, a bolt will be far more accurate than a semi, but with tweaking the semi replaceing bits ect he says there isnt much between them in the end, just the cost.

expensive rabbit but nice shot.

My recent purchase: Cz 452 Silhouette 16in, SAK mod, Deben Bipod, and an old tasco 3-9 x 50?? possibly anyway its old and it works its first victim
-
I'm very drawn towards the CZ style or silhouette mainly for the synthetic stock. Although i prefer the style with its nickel and synthetic combination im unsure if the shine off the barrel with affect stalking too much.

that condition is on there already i made sure of that

Indeed, shows you should never listen to people who dont have a clue what they are on about, or ones that just like to cast doubt. I think its open, theres no mention anywhere of the land i applied to shoot on being there, just that statment, the fact i can use it on the range and can buy expanding ammo. Yes I decided on the .22 and mod route first mainly because its cheap ammo for both range and field work over the 17hmr, then in a year or so i will probably go .223 for fox or suchlike, but thats a long way off yet ill get my experience with a .22 first. Rabbits here i come.

WOOOOO its arrived, in a nice brown envolope. one question though, how can i tell if its an open cert or closed. all thats stated is "The .22rf and .22 sound moderator and ammunition to which this certificate relates shall be used for the shooting of vermin and for zeroing on landover which the holder haspermision to shoot with that class of firearm from the person whom shooting rights are owend or from whom they may be leased or otherwise obtained" is this an open fac?
-
Varmint or non-varmint that is the question

Eye ive looked at the silhouette version, i just though the nickle finish and the synthetic stock seam to compliment each other rather well and i was told it would look better for longer over the blued barrel, not sure if this is true or not. I dont have the cert in my hand as of yet, but the interview was last thurs and he said id have it by this friday all being well. -
would the mentoring be for the rifle, or for the shooting of deer? if its just for deer surely theres no harm in haveing it on the cert, even if your mentor isnt always avaliable, string it out over a year or so going when you can. if you leave it off now, then apply in 6 months whats to stop them saying again that you need a mentor for deer?
