  2. I agree that the law is more protective of the criminals than the victims in certain cases (self defence and rape being a couple that spring to mind)
  3. Ive had a glance over it in the past, but i think a trip to the works printer is in order, not printing out 200+ pages on an inkjet oh and a trip to the local libary wherever it may be. thanks for all this advice, its much appriciated.

  5. Ive got one, best gun in the world ......ever! Seriously, a great little rifle. I will never want any other 22 rimmy, its all i can ask for. /me puts it on his wish list, along with a nice shiny new cabinet, and an FAC to use it.
  6. being as i can only look at rifles atm, i like the look of the cz 'style' (nickle barrel, synthetic stock) looks like it could take a fair bit of outdoor abuse, and being as you all recomend cz's, anyone got a 'style'?
  7. sorry to butt in on this but i too am looking to in the next few months apply for my FAC and then of course get a nice shiney .22lr. can i ask why most people prefer the cz over the rutger (i persoanly love the synthertic stock over the wood but thats as far as my knowlage goes on these matters)

  10. I've just got myself a nice AGS PCR1 (well it looks nice anyways) after owning a BSA Lightning XL which i could never rearly control the recoil on but that may be because i didnt have a bipod, but thats neither here nor there. At the moment i have a hawke 4x40 scope fitted, and useing promethius pellets. is this a good setup for rabbits? should i invest in a bipod, change ammo or scope?? any details on other PCR1 setups would be nice, or just genral advice if this setup is all wrong. Thanks Aaron
  11. so much to take in. My boss currently has a .22lr and owns the shooting rights on the land, (and i remember the firearms officer coming round and checking over the land) so hopefully that is all ok, allthough ive worked on the land for 5 years now so i know the in's and outs of it, where the boundrys are, footpaths ect which i assume i will be checked that i am fully aware of the area i plan to shoot in. If i have a mentor for deer stalking, and i get a letter from him saying he is willing to take me on stalks and take me under his wing so to speak, would this please the firearms depar
  12. thank you for all this advice, its much appriciated, i shall put in for the 2 different sizes on the form, a .22LR and maybe then either a .243 or a 6.5 x 55 for deer/foxing and see how it goes. I asume the firearms officer will want to visit the land i wish to shoot on and my home location yes?
  13. im from bedfordshire. there is a chap that comes round and dose deer stalking for us so the option to go out with him is always avaliable, my boss also has a .22lr so i will probably follow his choice, can you put 2 choices on your first FAC application, or is it not advised? thanks for all this advice.
  14. Hi all, useing the brilliant tool that is google, i have found these forums. After finaly requesting a form 101 from my local station, and reading SS's post on the best way to fill it in (which i will do in the next few weeks when i get a cabinet fitted) but i need some advice on what calibre rifle i should opt for. I currently use a .22 air-rifle, and ill be honest, for the rabbits on my boss's land, the range just isnt possible, the rabbits are too shy, so for this reason i was looking at a .22LR but we also have a few fox's and muntjack deer around, which would mean the .22LR would not
