  1. Get some new sprung nettle patches, Preferably where a dog hasnt thrown his leg over them....Pick the top few inches, or further down if there not too dark. Drop into boiling water for about a minute, remove and place in iced water for ten seconds, Pat dry on kitchen paper, then deep fry for a few seconds. They go well with a lot of stuff...Try ciabatta with melted cheese and then the nettles on top.
  2. Well spotted...The vet noticed that as well
  3. No, I havent had her out with the ferrets yet, Looking forward to September, shes taken well to them, But she was trained very well to them by a lad on here, she lyes at the hutch everyday and they all drink milk from the same bowl now and again, She has to get a blanket over her at night, theres a picture in my gallery, A right old pet at home, and then tears up the field after rabbits! I intend to get up to you for a day and kick your ass for getting rid of that good dog you had, If I had of been lookng for dog at the time I would have taken her off your hands.
  4. Id say my dog eats less than him! You will have to take one now.... ooh, would be good to get more of that blood into my stock, but I think I am full for now. One clutch of banties a week old and setting some more tommorrow. Maybe if I can get my kennels sorted over summer I could make some room haha. That ypur dog in your avatar picture, looks strong, how is she doing? Shes doing brilliant, you couldnt ask for a better dog, Im very glad I got her

  6. I agree completely... Maybe its just me, But there is another Long Netting book which is deemed to be "The One" And I found it a load of cobblers.
  7. I had a phone call this morning from a local council place I was trying toget permission, They had an injured ferret and wondered if I would take it...1 hour later I arrived, "Injured" was an understatement, this ferret was in a tin box with holes in the lid, inside a very hot shed, this didnt help the very bad condition it was in, he couldnt move, and was rasping with every breath, his mouth was caked in dry blood and he had a very bad coat & smelt realy realy bad, Not wanting to move him or touch him, I took him in the box he was in but removed the lid and kept the a/c on him in the car
  8. Id say my dog eats less than him! You will have to take one now....
  9. I went out this morning when I heard the milk man rattling, I checked the ferrets on the way in and my pregnant jill in on her own, Had 8 nippers in the nest - She came to the door as usual and had a bit of a sniff, no fuss or anything, they all look good. Its both parents first litter, The hob came from a member on the site last year.
  10. I only started Long Netting at the end of the season this year and was getting a few each night, The farmer that owns one of the grounds we ferret in the winter wanted us to go up for a nights shooting as the place was coming down with young rabbits. Instead of boring shooting, Tonight I decided we would try the long net again, One drop, and we got 13 rabbits! I was very pleased, and it will keep the farmer quiet & the ferrets fed until we get up another night, Long Netting is definitely a very effective way to control rabbits, More people should be at it. 11. Writers will put out a book on a subject...However, This time, I feel that the subject has chosen the writer to put out the book...For this particular writer is well deserved of being considered an absolute expert in his field, Not only has he a way with the long net, he has a way with words and a clear and straight down the line way of explaining what exactly hes talking about. There are far too many books on Long Netting that arent really written on Long Netting, they should be more aptly named "Memoirs of a wannabe Longnetter" of which these writers get carried away in their own minds writi
