  1. I noticed a few fresh tiny spots of blood on the floor of my dogs bed a few minutes ago, I checked her over and she had a very tiny spot right in below the top of her tail, I think the blood came from in there as there was some on the cotton wool I dabbed her with, Shes in great health, eating, jumping and Ive had her out walking twice today, with no trouble, I will take her to the vet tomorrow, But I wanted to have a check on to see if anyone might know? I hope its nothing too bad.
  2. I often find that the most unlikely looking holes usually hold a few where as the well used looking holes can be dead! Near the end of the season, we netted a set with about 3 dozen holes, all looked well used and fresh droppings outside etc, 6 ferrets, 45 minutes, not a sausage, one of the younger blokes had moved further up and netted a small set of 4 holes that looked dead and full of leaves, it was our last set of the day and we used one young ferret, Ruby....10 miniutes later....another 5 in the bag!
  3. I thought someone might have known
  4. Well done, a lot of hard work and patience there...
  5. Can anyone tell me anything about Bird Of Prey licensing in the Republic Of Ireland? For a Harris Hawk or example?
  6. Im putting this on for my friend, Lightforce Blitz - £ posted, Northern Ireland,
  7. Me too, I will take the jacket NOW!
  8. Its tossers like that, that piss me off
  9. I know a lot of people that feed it, Its a fraction of the price of ferret food, and theres only small differences in the protein and fat content %'s which can be easily made up with odd rabbits etc
  10. Squirrel Sandwiches to school....Good lad!
  11. Funny you should mention........I know where there are 2 pups, pm me if you want me to find out for you.
  12. Well done, There hard to master, But once you get the hang, you wont use nothing else! Did you Birds Nest it much before you got it right? I went through a lot of spools of line to begin..I still have the odd blow up as well, usually at night in the rain!
  13. True...The price is rising, I think its because there becoming more popular as pets, A pet shop near sells the kits for £45 a piece in the summer I know of no one that keeps pet ferrets. These ferrets are being sold to working homes for ferretting. If you thnk about it a ferret should be worth a great deal more they live as long as dogs and cost much less to feed yet provide a great deal of hunting time. If a working lurcher pup is worth a hundred pounds then a ferret should be worth a half that at least, but then I plan never to sell pups either free to working homes of friends.

  15. Why should he have to justify his price to you? He's not making you buy them. Go into Tescos and ask them why they think there tv sets are worth 89.99 and see what response you get.
  16. You really do end up with a lot more rabbits, I started using one a few months into the season, And it sort of takes the edge off you wondering where your ferret is! Wait till someday you dig and get 3 or 4 stopped up, Its great!
  17. am also after a dog, Im caught between Lurcher and terrier, I definitely cant have the two! I like the handiness of a small terrier and the the fact the he might be handy for rough shooting as well, But I long to see a lurcher belting after a rabbit my ferrets bolted...............Decisions, decisions....
  18. I used those poles very successfully on 2 50 yard nets on very SANDY ground....But when I got permission in mountain ground later in the year..I had to change to fibreglass, and although those poles arent bad....You can soon see why people use fibreglass....I can put in half as many poles in a 100yrd net and put as much tension in the top line as I need and the wont even shift!
