  6. Thats not even proper rabbit its farmed nonsense, A guy near me supplies restaurants, shops etc, big white red eyed feckers that weigh a stone each and move as much as a battery hen from there born till they die
  7. I took my 100yrd trad long net out tonight, I have only ever used it for ferreting, But decided to try long netting after reading a book or 3 about it. Got to the field, set up the net (eventually) and suspected I had made quite a lot of noise doing so....Walked out behind the field and walked the rabbits into the net, Ended up with four! Not too bad I suppose, could have been better, But only my first try....Better luck next time! I discovered on taking one rabbit from the net, He made quite a nice hole in it, What would be my best method for sewing this up? Obviously a net needle, But h
  8. I have a MK3 and find it goes mental when I use it near the railway lines where I ferret.
  9. EXACTLY! theres a very fine line between baiting and digging, but a massive moral/ethical one. Its amazing how so many fellow hunters go ferreting or shooting and call terriermen all sorts. Ive met guns while out beating that openly voice how digging is cruel and terriermen are barbaric sickos and yet when a bird is pricked they couldnt give a shit about it if it takes any effort to find the bird. f*****g sickens me! Whats the difference in digging and baiting?
  10. Try the Buy and Sell...seems to be a lot of them in it
  11. I thought you hadnt been on for a while....
  12. I have found if I have a good start to the day, Its ends up crap! And if I have a bad start it usually ends up good!
  13. You got that right! A bad ferret is like a mouse compared to one of those Mongooses.
  14. What area that shop in? Used to be in pet trade and know you could get meerkats, red squirrels, glis glis even racoons but never heard of mongoose. Tempting though haha A man down my direction, Theres nothing he doesnt keep! There actually quite nice, But need "Socialising" as he put it, A diplomatic way of saying there bad b*****s!
  15. Ruby, My youngest Jill....If your missus doesnt find her cute then you havent a hope!
  16. I saw the pet shop local to me selling Dwarf Mongooses today, I had a look and the guy reckoned they would be good for rabbits and ratting! You would definitely want a locator collar on it though..........£1000 a pair!!
  17. I got one with young on saturday morning, I let it go, and got no more the rest of the day, I might head back to the mountain ground this weekend and see what its like for one last day, But aside from that, Im done.
  18. I didnt say how old I thought it was, I just simply said it was obviously older than it looked because it had bad teeth.
  19. Am I right in thinking that its very tiny size and the fact it has a slightly shorter than normal looking tail, be a sign of an inbred ferret? Its tail isnt stumpy, It just looks a bit shorter than it should be!
  20. I was out with my father yesterday, He's a shooting man and as the pheasants are over now, He tagged along for a shot at a few bolters...After working along a lane, me netting one side and him shooting the other, We netted 8 and shot 5 on the first half of the lane, It takes a full day as the lane is very long, we had a ferret each side and just let them work in and out the whole way down, We stopped for a sandwich at 2 and my dad shouted from the other side of the lane he had both ferrets in the box, But then, there was one bouncing around the hole a few yards below me......... I went do
