  1. clicked onto link and ended up watching people showing how to kill rabbits , they should get the jail for cruelty, pure rank amateurs, holding rabbit by back legs and hitting it on head with an axe ,
  2. your rabbit looks as if a buzzard has eaten it , still your doing good , were you setting along the hedge .
  3. OTC. cant believe it 16 quid for a stinking old rusty gin trap , i flung a hundred into an old quarry a few years back , i,ve still got a few in my shed .
  4. Dont think thats an Option he has mate For both Foothold/gin traps are long gone illiagal in this country and even looking at a badger ,, ,Would probbally get you locked away with the key thrown away. why do you people piss about with silly traps , when a simple wire catcher would do , then check it in the morning and then before dark , taking any birds out , then your trap is empty all night , therefore there is nothing for a fox or badger to take .
  5. HH all. you are better with 0.457 for rabbit snares consisting of 6 strand, forget all the 8 and 10 strand rabbit snares crap , absolutely not needed , these snares are made and sold by people who have no idea about snaring, don,t use 0.375 for rabbit snares its to thin but a four strand snare made from the latter diameter wire o.375 would make a nice squirrel snare. G.
  6. ian i taught him and his mate alan, now all he does is lie in the sun out in spain, and goes boozing with p and g , he will hardly go out and set snares now , and he has got some great farms to snare with large amounts of rabbits that will probably die from old age , before he gets around to it . he should call woodga over .
  7. i think you are right on there my man , the more it seems that you try and help them , the more they seem to either copy your ideas and try to make a fast buck out of them , there are more coming onto this site with profit in mind , wanting brass wire, eyelets, how to make this and that just to sell . look how the quick set long net was being sold after i showed it, and i,m the originator of the idea. my breakaway fox snare eyes, breakaway rabbit snares , earth anchors . yep trappa, i,m showing no bast#rd nothing else , except my personal friends on the site . and there are certain good idea
  8. the hoop snare has been used up here in scotland for about 70 yrs. and it was me who showed it to the lads in the south in the early 90,s i,ve taught guys in america ,canada , australia, new zealand, ireland .
  9. you don,t use a knot , just a double hitch,
  10. look at the top of the opening page and you will see various types of rat snaring trigger systems , and the bent nail is one of them its been around for decades .
  11. why don,t you just purchase some fence snares from woodga, already made up for you .
  12. look at the post on the breakaway rabbit snaring i put up , and see how to spin an eyelet into the snare wire as a stop , this will keep your rabbits alive .
  13. the nooses on the right and left are to low, the one in the middle is to high, the nooses in general look to big , cut the bottom strand in the middle and bend the two parts straight down parallelwith the sides , shape and reset your nooses better , and have the bottom of the snareloop sitting where the bottom fenceline wire used to be , the one that was cut in otherwords.
  14. l. loyd, these are used extensively up here in scotland , especially on logs over drainage ditches on moorland , very effective for stoats.using these cross overs.
  15. don,t be expecting santa coming down the chimney at christmas sonny, he,s already delivered to you, when you sell your rabbits buy some wires from woodga, and give me peace.
  16. comanche, the guy should have payed you to take that monstrosity off his hands .
  17. three mornings is usually enough to thin them out , unless mr foxy is prowling around every night , then you have problems, same with feral cats, you have to kill them , as p and g, says , or kill the predators first before you start ,
  18. Oh......he'll have you now why do lads do that to me , you know that it really upsets me , you lucky bast#rds . what i would give for a nice field covered in runs like that. mind and take the camera rolfe. then you and colin can really wind me up . sods.
  19. great wee tool those woodga. great for the high tensil wire for the hoop snares also.
  20. there is only one problem with those snares , they should be in my shed.
  21. Ive caught 100`s of hares in 4 strand snares and had few brakes as long as you use them with hoops or bricks and on fences with the method i have devised....P@G...... Remember those 4 stranded copper wires you gave me Snareman about 15 years ago.I used them for years on hoops and caught many 100`s of rabbits using them.I wouldnt mind a spool of that copper wire....P@G phil, send me an address , and i,ll give you my 4 strand hangers , and a spool of wire , so that you can make your own 4 stranders , two of copper and two of brass , this stuff is really good as woodga, and duckwing have sn
  22. ok i know the warrener is a bit of a joke to some on here, but he said about putting small bells on the tealer wire, and said it could help. god knows what the cost of 200 bells could be but do you think it could work ? foxes can help in a way if its totol pest control but for someone out to get some for the pot or some who make a living out of the rabbits they sell also could bells be the answear waken up you dumplings, the bells on the snares is pure crap , the same as the bullseye snares, and the three inch diameter heeling pegs , and i,m the man who made him the wire tealers on his
  23. why muck about trying to make a rat lure , rats love meat and fish, and everything else for that matter .
  24. spin them up until you have a little shirt collar effect under the eyelet , if you dont have this, and the snare wire is tightened right up to the eyelet , you have slightly over tightened it , then you will pay for it later.
