  2. Are they baby Kestrels See ya in the morning,....
  3. Erudite reply... I've lost count of the times a client has said to me,..." Is your rat poison ,..'poisonous' to dogs,.. Only,.I've got two pedigree poodles' ?... FFS... " I always reassure the customer by saying,.." Your dogs are quite safe Madam,...It would be far too expensive for me to kill them'... I get some reet funny looks...Not surprising really,..and on reflection it is a fecking silly comment to make..But,.it just gets a bit insulting to think that a professional pester is going to allow such a thing to occur.. Honestly,.do Electricians, Plummers and other 'trades' get th
  4. Terrible bad news there mate,...I think we ALL had high hopes for that fabulous dog 'at stud'.... ... But,.you know the game,..."It's brush yourself off,..pick yourself up,..and start all over again'.... All the best to you,...cheers,..CHALKWARREN...

  7. Many thanks to The Big Fish for constructing a new dog box for me... I hope to be collecting a lurcher pup this coming Sunday... It is doubtful if the tiny mite will dare to venture into this Cathedral-like kennel, but at least when the time comes, there will be plenty of space for her and Honey to stretch out in comfort.. Its great to have so many good friends that are gifted and endowed with such useful artisan skills,... For myself,.I can do nothing,...I'm just a hopeless waster.... All the best,...and once again,...cheers to The Big Fish....

  9. Fecking bored them to death,.more like....
  10. Yeah,.the old fellah was certainly upset when his jukel went off to her new life,..but,.interesting as this programme was,...it was hardly representative of the average scenario. I've schooled a fair few sheepdogs as a boy and believe me,.that Beardie Collie was no ordinary type of show dog bloodline... He was certainly the 'real deal' and took to the sheep work very easily... Same with the Bloodhound,.she was a natural ... However,.this was a good bit of TV,..pity we don't have more things like this on All the best,.CHALKWARREN...
  11. Not the ideal choice mate.... As Millet suggested,.you would be far better served with a Harris Hawk... All the best,.CHALKWARREN....
  12. Already working on it Micky,...
  13. Well done lads,.. We often use the Patterdales,.the Blacks and the Chocs,..on jobs where a lurcher is not allowed They are real steady at the job,.but still flash to ground on the 'other fecking things',...if you don't watch em .. All the best,.CHALKWARREN......

    Out with

Goodonya breeze for giving the 'night net' a trip out... My old Field Sports supplies company,..'Moucher Products' was the first one to sell the 'fixed pole' method of longnetting ( as devised by Glenn Waters )...so,.I always pushed this style of long netting,..and when the 'basket' system that I first saw demonstrated by the West Dorset netmaker Keith Prior,.decades ago,..came back into popularity,.well,.the Long Net business fair took off,..and about fecking time,.eh... The most proficient handlers of the 'easy set' basket method that I have ever seen are,..Simon Whitehead and Mike the D
  15. The concept of a book based entirely on the training of lurchers,.is ,...(like most things appertaining to the lurcher),...not a new one... And, considering the large amount of newcomers entering into the running dog game,.the request for a training manual is perfectly understandable... Hopefully someone will try to satisfy this obvious need...
  16. 'Education,.education,.education',... I'm always ready to listen mate,...time is fast running out for me, ...still lots to learn...
  17. Little Lloyd,...you really are a right fecking Gibblet And fairly typical of today's' 'intake'....No offence matey,..just having the craic with ya Darn Sarf, on most of the large estates that I helped to control the roosting pheasants on,..most keepers had to run a gibbet...I was once on a big place and just having a quiet mouch when the keeper stepped out from behind a large oak . He stepped onto the footpath and stood right in front of me,.blocking my way. Back then,..as Ditch-Shitter will no doubt affirm,...we always came 'dressed for the part'.. It was no damn use saying,.'Oh, I'm j
  18. had a feral cat this morning in the cage, about 50 yards from the last eaten rabbit , there was also a big healthy dead rabbit in a trap not 5 yards from the cage , dunno if the cat was in before or after the rabbit got caught, reset the cage , looks like it might not have bin a hedgie after all that ate either rabbit , we all keep learning Only an arrogant kind of uncaring and spiteful person would ever say,..."I told you so",.....Meeeow....
