Aven had BIG BALLS Ditchy.... I remember her well... Old Plummer was having a bit of a scream,...he didn't like the way things were going,.and he wasn't having certain young guys writing in the magazine about terriers,.ferrets, lurchers...etc... They were getting a wee bit too popular with the readers... So,..he starts to dictate to Aven how 'things are going to be'...don't ya know... 'Don't you know WHO I am',.. he says... ? Yes it is a dilemma,...but,..I hope to be running out a new long net set-up next week... Hopefully,..with a wee bit of 'tweaking' here and there,..I can move forwards into the 21st century... I'll let you know how things go,...so maybe hang fire with your gold dubloons,.. Cheers,..CHALKWARREN....

Paul73,.if you've a mind to hunt the rabbits,..I would seriously consider one of Royston's pups..... These types have been bred for the kind of work you would be doing.... I only hunt conies myself, and they would be ideal for me,..so perhaps give the guy a bell,.have a quiet chat.... Why take a risk,...?...'Up yer odds' mate....

That looks to be a clever old piece of kit 'Mole catcher'.... I've never really used the basket and net combo,..maybe its time I walked into the 21st Century.. Many of the baskets on offer from the various suppliers are no doubt fairly priced,..but still way outside my own meagre funds IF I can manage to save some small portion of my weekly allowance, I would dearly love to purchase one of your most excellent long netting accessories...Many thanks for showing us your wares...

I'm not much of a Saluki fellah Frank... I'm not the guy to ask about them Bedouin boys... There are some real affectionados of the type on this site,..they would know far better than me... Most of the dogs that I have seen running in the sand looked fairly crossbred and raggedy old critters ,..but they sure was toughie's... fecking had to be I suppose...

Some nights I've been at the death of well over a hundred rabbits/hares,.etc ,..taken out with the rimmy and dazzler...but,..like others,.it leaves me fecking cold...Cashed the bodies in at the dealers and counted the vonga,..but it still ain't for me...Whereas,. the sight of a beautiful canine predator in action and hunting his quarry seems to make it all worthwhile Always loved them rawney dawgs,.always will.... WE have some good VHS-S footage of Stainton's dogs running ,..and catching the hares... I liked the man's jukels,.and I enjoyed the man's company....

I think a genuine lurcher 'enthusiast' is always looking to own a dog that is a wee bit special... And once again we enter into the often confused area of just what is,..and what isn't,..'special.. Personally,..my big ambition is to one day own a decent running dog that can actualy catch a rabbit... I like to see all these questions ,and hear all the answers... Its strange what folk talk about on the Net,...diverse subjects that might never be raised at other times,..very interesting... All the best to ALL crosses,...cheers,.CHALKWARREN...

@ Higgins.... I don't think that I would have the required concentration span or temperament that would be needed to quiz all the famous hare coursers... My own forte is in jotting down my experiences hunting the humble cony,...perhaps not quite as exciting or financially profitable a project as one depicting chasing the fabulous Brown hare would be,..but there ya go...
