  1. The type of folk who just go out and buy an animal before reading up i dont think will be bothered about reading up on them.
  2. Sorry to hear that. This is why all mine are neutered i wont risk it.
  3. I would buy 2. Ferrets do better with their own company mate its great watching em play. I clean mine out everyday, ferrets shit for england lol. They need large hutch and run, tubes etc plenty of things to do. They need time outside the cage to run about. More you handle em friendlier they are. Feed them raw meat and biscuits. Hobs can live together but if theyre not done they can fight in breeding season so you might need a spare cage. Jills need bringing out of season every year or spaying. Bigger their home the better, they get bored easy so need alot of things to do.
  4. I would put in more than one bed, cover thwm both in ferretone/olive oil on their necks. They might lick it off each other. Otherwise i would get them both spayed mate . And introduce them on the grass where its neutral. I know what its like i have 2 groups cos i have one jill that will rag any ferrets outside her group. Leaves punture marks bleeding. Goid luck with em.
  5. If it is ear mites, its this you want http://www.petsathome.com/shop/anti-parasite-spot-on-for-rabbits-and-guinea-pigs-by-beaphar-15792
  6. I know two people who have minks in with ferrets but I dont think they would get along if they met down an hole.
  7. What it eats and what it doesnt, doesnt make a difference to whether its gonba work or not. Some ferrets will only eat dry but will still work.
  8. I use the giant ones, the nozzle is bigger so they can get more water they hold a litre of water. I let them soak once a week in stuff for babys bottles and they stay like new.
  9. Thats great, much better than the old ones mate, no offence lol. Looks much easier to clean. Fill bottles to top with some warm water and sterilising fluid and leave em for an hour or two! Should come up clean. & the third hutch down, the ferret needs some more water

    stinkers

They shouldnt smell too much this time of year cos hobs and jills should be both out of season. Smell of em depends on what their bedded on and their diet also.
  11. so you got time for a new pup but not the ferrets. Hope you find a good home for them.
  12. You can get heat pads from pets at home that you put in microwave. I would use one if i had any on their own.
  13. That is just bollocks. Im suprised the rspca didnt include a statement saying "we would advise members of the public not to handle them and call us streight away" for them to turn up 6 hours later with a glove on LOL
  14. alarms on here, all ferrets padlocked aswell. Hope someone catch's the little fuckers and gives em what they deserve cos otherwise they will just get a slap on the wrist.
  15. I just use fleece blankets from poundshops, they have about 7 of them in their bed box that is in the shed. On bottom i use newspaper and vetbed. They are always warm. Bang blankets in washer once a week.
  16. Get them both spayed mate that might help with hormones.
  17. Fleece is good material for an hammock. If you got an old fleece jumper zip it up cut the arms off and put some string through corners.
  18. Theres a difference between muzzling a dog, most dog muzzles (basket muzzles, still allow movement of the mouth). With a ferret obviously the muzzle has to be so tight to keep the mouth closed and prevent it from getting it off. You might keep yours in small cages, speak for yourself but alot on here keep ferrets in courts my court is about 14ft by 5ft.
  19. Poor ferret them pictures made me feel sick. Anyone who think its acceptable to tie a peice of string round a ferrets gob ought to be shot! It must of been tight cos we all know ferrets would of had it off in seconds. f*****g disgusting!
  20. Vitalin has been owned by alpha since last year vitalin went bust, used to feed mine on vitalin dam site cheaper than jwb but now feed on alpha as theres not much difference between the 2 just alpha is cheaper £39 for viatlin 15kg or £16 for 10 kg Alpha What do you mean not much difference and I know alpha also took over vitalin but I would say vitalin is the better one. Vitalins state what meat is in the food as first ingredient on the bag (fresh chicken, chicken meat meal 43%) Its also uses rice as a filler and alpha uses wheat.
  21. I wouldnt of thought ferrets would use a wheel tbh I thought they were way more intelligent than to run round in circles lol!
  22. I think vitalin is probably the best dry but if you can feed your ferrets on an all flesh diet all year round thats great, just not conveniant for some. Aslong as your ferrets are happy and healthy thats all that matters and their not fed on bread and milk and wet cat food shite.
  23. Tiny 7. DM said he feeds his ferrets this food. He didnt say if he supplements with raw meat or no so whats to say he doesnt. Dont jump to conclusions about things. Mine are fed a mix of dry including alpha with meat most days, chicken wings, rabbit, value mince, chicken livers.
  24. Ive varnished mine with exterior varnish and on the floor I use lino so it can be wiped out, piss easy to clean and stops wood from rotting with all pee ( I use litter trays though so that doesnt happen anyway) Edited to add if you use varnish dont put your ferrets in for a few days until its aired out!
