  1. Sometimes they just wolf stuff down too fast and they can run round being sick. Just keep an eye on her and if you think shes not eating, pooing or drinking properly then the vets What as she had to eat today. She asnt got any of the dry food stuck in her mouth as she?
  2. Bigger the hutch, the better! Depends how long theyre going to be spending in there, or if theyre coming out or going into a run everday.
  3. Let them out on neutral ground. Cover all their necks in oilive oil. Let her with one at a time. They should lick the oil off each others necks which will discoruage biting. I have just read that she has draw blood on one of em. I would wait until they are abit bigger if you dont think they are big enough to stick up for themselves. Make sure your there all time just incase Ive one here that wont mix, rives at the wire at any sight of another, wags her tail, draws blood on others.
  4. If they dont eat the biscuits mate you will have to add just a few ferret biscuits in with the winalot, gradually increasing the biscuits. They might prefer the wet food cos they know no different. Its much less effort for em tucking into some wet food than it is crunching on biscuits. But their teeth on the wet food will just get caked up and the crap that is in the dog food they wont be getting anything from it, it will just be going streight through em.
  5. Liver is ok but not everyday of the week! If you can get a big bag of alpha feast, it will last two ferrets agess. You can get it online for £20 incl delivery if you cant get any local. http://www.pet-supermarket.co.uk/products-Alpha-Ferret-Feast-Food_HB0090.htm
  6. Ditch the winalot mate. All the crap and jelly in them tins wont fill them. No wonder shes not content. Also wet cat or dog food no good for their teeth at all! Get them a good dry ferret food, tommorrow. Vitalin, alpha. (even pets at home sell it) Meat will fill them up more like chicken wings a quid a pack from supermarket. They love em and great for their teeth. Cheap frozen value mince aswell. Just leave a bowl full of dry down aswell as feeding her meat and giving them out often. See how you get on.
  7. How long are you getting her out for a day? Yes they do want a bigger cage. Especially if theyre spending nearly all day in there. Is she in season? What do you feed them? 4ft is not much at all especially if that includes the bedding area aswell, then theres the shit corner lol She might of just got into this habbit and obviously more time out of cage will help alot, along with new hutch and plenty of things to do.
  8. Nice work mate. It would make a great portable cage for back of a car if you need to take em anywhere. As a permanant hutch though, its too small.
  9. nice setup, plenty for em to do in there!
  10. I think if i remember right a petshop has to have a seperate license to keep/sell ferrets on their premises. Normally in petshops they are fed when they are remembered about, swelting in glass tanks I can understand what your saying vermin catcher but i dont think it works. People buy dogs at hundreds of pounds and neglect them, people buy rabbits at pets at home at £20- £30 and they are forgot about at the top of garden.
  11. two of mine live in here but they spend most their day in the big run. As you can see theve got stuff to do and littertrays make it piss easy to clean out. Theyre run
  12. I feed meat and yes my ferrets do have blankets, hammocks etc! Your lass is right they do need something to do. But the best thing you can do for them is let them in the house each day, run or outbuilding they wont play with toys in a small hutch no. But they will go in hammocks. Hammocks you can get from ebay, dont use towels or anything, always use fleece, as theres no loose threads for them to get claws stuck. So any fleece jumpers are great for bedding also. Free carpet tubes from carpet shop, compost box. Also wicker hanging baskets make great hammocks. Put a blanket in there, they
  13. Sounds like he might be trying to play but just abit too rough. Are they getting out to run about etc. Get some olive oil put it on your fist, if he licks and bites shout NO and take away your hand, keep re offering until he realises biting = no treat. You can get malt paste from pets at home aswell if thats easier. If he does struggle or bite do not put them down. And if he does bite do not pull your finger out, push your finger in. Dont tap/hit/flick him, it will just make him fear hands.
  14. Is he biting and drawing blood or nipping. Does he latch on or just grab and let go? Is it when you pick him up or? How old is he? Does he live on his own?
  15. Dont breed her, what a f*****g muppet suggesting that. Only have to go on freeads to see hundreds of ferret kits all free to good home. Because people (idiots) just cant find homes for them. Lamping lurcher, if you take her to the vets, get her a jill jab, that will bring her out of season.
  16. I hate to see ferrets on their own. Unless they are ferrets who dont get on with other ferrets at all. Dan outdoors, You can put them all back in together when all your ferrets are out of season. Meanig when the jill vulva isnt swollen and when the hobs balls are not visble.
  17. The beaphar one does ear mites. Can get it from pets at home. Ive belive its very simlar to stronghold. Hope this helps. http://www.petsathom...y-beaphar-15792 Its a pippette, you just put it onto the back of their necks.
  18. Yes well my vet will do them when their balls are showing. Which is around 6 month. You will know when they need doing as they will scragg each other and pace up and down the cage. You have to remember though if you let them get into full blown season before having them done, it will obviously take longer for the hormones to calm down when they have been done. Try abit of olive oil on a plate, stroke them whilst theyre lapping it up. Theyre ferrets they just want to explore especially as their kits.
  19. You need to let them run off energy everyday, after that make sure theyve a belly full of meat and start handling them. Sit on floor and let them come to you, thats what I do. I leave it aslong as possible to get mine castrated, some have been ok untill 9 months but you can get them done at 6 months.
  20. 55 quid for castration in yorkshire.

    Hobs

My mates hobs are still in season. Mine are all done so theyve no choice lol.
  22. If your on ebay type in ferret hutch or rabbit hutch. Search by distance nearest for local people selling them.

    Worming

Never thought ferrets need worming. I dont agree with pumping them full of chemicals when its not needed unless theyve actually got em.
  24. I wouldnt soak the dry for adult ferrets. It will just stick to their teeth and they'll probs get a build up of plaque.
  25. Nice cage i dont blame you with the locks. I live in a quiet area and mine are locked and alarmed (like fort knox). Think it wont happen to you but i rather be safe than sorry.
