  1. a couple of them rabbits looked smashed to bits and covered in blood are your dogs a little heavy mouthed ??? .... i have a nice spot for flushing hares on right next to a top ferreting spot and i am a lot closer than 350 miles .... i may be off next week mark if uyou want i will witness what your dog can do on open land retrieving a shot hare then we can have a days ferreting ... i will bring along my collie mungrel pup so she can learn how to ferret by watching your dogs .............
  2. in my opinion the type of dogs you keep would struggle badly on a daytime hare in open country given fair law, they are to small and are better suited to rabbits ...............
  3. there are some proper retards writing in that pathetic excuse for a hunting magazine ... rats chewing their way INTO a ferret court ..... I DONT THINK SO .....................
  4. thanks for the offer mark ... maybe next season when the pup has matured a bit more .... however she is more of a day dog than she is a lamper ... she has only been out on the beam about 5 times ...........
  5. sounds like things are going well for you jay and your record is looking good ... i am busy promoting your upcoming fight with vimmy at the middland this year ............ CLASH OF THE GINGERS

  11. there is no way any rat will go in that shed when it smells there are ferrets in there .............
  12. for it to be the opposite front and rear legs on a diagonal angle i would suspect that would be a back problem ... a twisted or pulled muscle or he has pinched a nerve on the turn maybe ..............
  13. well you cant have her .............
  14. they are both scabby collie curs ...................
  15. had tegan resting all last week as she has been under the weather and has lost 5lb in weight but after Fridays successful roe deer stalk i reckoned she was telling me that she was starting to feel better so myself chalkwarren and thebigfish had a little walk out on our mutual permission, we all things to do in the afternoon so we whent out for a quick couple of hours sport .... we had a great days sport using the longnets and bolting for the dogs to run ...... anyway i will let the pics do the talking ......... photos courtesy of thebigfish ............. TEGAN AND HONEY WAITING........
  16. it will be butchered tommorow and the feezer filled .......... make sure gralloch it a bit sharpish else it will be fit for feck all only the bin it has been hanging since friday thats plenty .... it was gralloched an hour later ..............
  17. it will be butchered tommorow and the feezer filled ..........
  18. he was a very nice man ...............
  19. i was out walking tegan on friday afternoon when i came accross a fella who had shot a roe and it had run on so i cast off tegan to track it ... the roe was around 90 yards away when she seen it and she closed the ground very fast ... she made this an easy and efficient track ... not bad for 17 month old 23 inch collie cur
  20. depending on how badly torn they are i cut them off the healing process is a lot quicker as the risk of infection getting inside a healing cut is negated and if the dog doesnt have a stopper hanging off then it cant catch it on anything .... if you take them off it has to be done immediately after they have been damaged .............. this bitch was running again with no probs in less than 2 weeks ..........

    BODMIN MOOR

feck me bodmin moor is full of nut jobs  ... deliverance has feck all on that place ..............
  22. i think i proved that what i was saying was correct ... how about you prove me wrong then fella ...............
  23. rob i wasnt talking about giving the dog a full meal ... i am saying to give the dog a fatty meal of about 1/4 of what he normally has 5 hours prior to lamping ... this meal will be fully digested by the time you go out and the fat converted to energy waiting to be used as the dog depletes his energy source over the course of a hard nights lamping ...........
  24. yes mate they will come loose with no human contact at all ... if the chain lead etc becomes twisted knotted etc sand rubs up against it when under tension it will pop open ... also the dog can rub against something and the action will be released ... i would class them as 85% safe ............
  25. what you must remember when keeping more than one dog is to give them all the equal amount of work ... keeping one dog as a back up just doesnt work as the dog will have seen so little work that it will be of little use to you when you finally get it out in the field ... i know so many blokes that keep more than one dog but will always send (old bob) out on the difficult rabbit or lamp (old nell) when the weather is spot on .... all your dogs should be given an equal chance so that you are not using a '' back up dog'' instead you have one laid up so you are just using your other dog ..........
