saying feck you ??? coming back when she feels like it ??? taking her time whin if you seen this bitch and how inteligent and obedient she was you would know just how rediculouse those statements are ... she would make your dogs look like retards .... now lets get things into perspective ... this bitch doesnt chase a rabbit and then get lost .... what i am saying is if she ends up on a long course and a fair way away from me she struggles to get her bearings ... however a quick peep on the whistle and she homes straight in .....
whin i dont need to worry about gamekeepers police bai
won't cover you in a sitting or standing position or when moving. although, most shots are taken in the prone position......
shape, shine, shadow, silhouette and movment.....
SUDDEN movement ............
tried taht mate and a wole host of other (brain inducing) strategies .... the bottom line is that she is a typical female and has no sense of direction ...........
i think i need to clarify here ... my dogs are never molly coddled as pups ... i dont wait for them i dont lift them over or under fences i dont fuss them if something scares them ... i leave them work things out for themselves and learn about the big bad world in their own way and time .... i am not saying this bitch is a neurotic panicking lunatic if she cant see me ... what i am saying is that this bitch has a terrible sense of direction and thats that .... and i can see from watching how easily this dog gets disorientated how other people have lost dogs when out hunting .....
snoops t
i doubt very much if she will ever change ... she is 20 months old now ... i have tried leaving her to her own devices many times and many times i have watched her racing away in completely the opposite direction to where i am in the vain hope of trying to find me ... a quick peep on the whistle and the brakes are on and back she comes with that relieved look in her eyes LOL .... it will be something i will have to live with and to be honest its no big deal .... i dont allow my dogs to hunt out of veiw of me anyway and it only becomes an issue if she has chased something that has taken her a f
a fair point but doesnt equate to this bitch as when sent out on a long run she will cast out like a collie and use the dead ground to come up on game which she cant possibly see but she always comes up right on them ... the problem occours if she has been led on a bit of a dance accross the ground or if there is even a sparse woodland involved ... i can honestly be 20 feet away from her in a wooded environment and she will be spinning wildly panicking that she cant find me ..................
hi mate, just wondering what sort of bond you have with the dog?
What age is the dog, and have yo

all my dogs are brought up the same i dont wait for them when on walks encouraging them to find me but this bitch just hasnt got a sense of direction ..........
cheers but i wasnt after advice LOL ... the bitch is 20 months old and just hasnt got a sense of direction LOL ... the thread was meant to point out the differences in some dogs directional ability compared to others ........
as the heading says what are your dogs like ??? i pondered this question as i stood watching my lurcher frantically trying to find me when i was only around 20 foot away ..... my terrier bitch can take off after game through the thickest of woods and i can only just hear her barking away in the distance ... i dont even brak my stride and carry on with my walk knowing that within minuets she will be back at my side as she has a fantastic sense of direction and can find me eberytime .....
the lurcher however can get lost in an open field ... i have watched her after a hard course that has ha
that sounds spot on for 2 jills with plenty of room .... if you have the room to build a run then great but if not that size hutch is more than adequate .........
wouldnt get a terrier because they are snappers and might fight !!!!!! so what is a jack russel then ??? ........ there speaks a man who knows nothing about dogs ..........
that suite is a very bad example ..... to much purples blues and light greens ... also the wool will become very heavy when wet and will catch on everything from bramble to fences to pine needles .... after an houre out you will be dragging half the wood behind you .... chuck it on the fire mate ..........
when the post whent up there was no mention of using it to find whether there is a dead rabbit up the tube i normally cornfirm this by the blood all over my ferrets face and the claws packed with fur .... but what would i know i am merely an internet hunter who knows feck all ...........
i have seen the dvd in question and the whole affair looked very amerturish to me ... the idea of extracting a live rabbit from a tube by using babrbed wire would never enter my head ... as i often say on these forums respect your quarry no matter whether it is the humble rabbit or an elegant red stag, and i dont feel that snagging the animal with barbed wire is showing much respect for your quaryy ... no the simple answer is to take tat little bit longer on locating the ferret in the first instance BUT if the rabbit does move a foot or two further up the tube then trench in it will take you 5

with poles but no net ??? cant really call it a longnet then can you ..........
cheers guys ... what you cant see from that angle of the 3 tier hutch is that it is 3 1/2 foot deep so there is tons of room .... the single long hutch also has tubing that goes from one end right around the roof of the dog run and back in the other end and is 23 foot in length .... helps keep them fit through the summer ................
