chicky came up today for his weekly ferreting fix and decided to bring his hardblood bitch ''blue'' along, she is normally kept for those big strong rabbits that like to run ... she has endless stamina and a fantastic nose wich makes her a very good hunting up type of working dog ... she has done a bit of ferreting but not much so chicky decided to bring her along and see how she whent ... she took to it like a duck to water and grasped the idea quickly ....... the day started off well with the ferrets working well and the rabbits flying out of the warrens and before lunch we had 20 odd r

everything has pretty much been covered on the subject of anal glands which for my two penneth worth i would go for ... the only thing to add is the position of the anal glands are at around the 20 past 8 position ... just use your thumb and foringer placed at this position on the dogs arse and gently squeeze in and up and out comes the filth .... lovely ...............

i would imagine the amount of lactic produced would be phenominal ... the amount of muscle carried would make them very prone to cramping up ... and all the agility needed for a days work twisting and turning on a rabbit would be lost due to the sheer bulk of muscle ... all in all pretty fecking useless unless you own a freak show .............

if you use them on a dog you will cause stomach ulceration and bleeding ... if you need to use an anti inflamotory then use metecam or rymadile ...........

a good ratting terrier should know the difference between a ferret and a rat ... my bitch will kill rats by the dozen but doesnt give the ferrets a second glance when they emerge on the arse end of a rat .........

i moved house a month back and with more room decided to build a new ferret court for the stinkers put the dogs in one of the greyhound kennels that was in my old mans and wasnt being used and got myself a nice new shed ......... anyway here are some of the new set up and some of the surrounding land on my doorstep ........ we had our first proper day last week as the weather finally cooled down enough for a bit of proper ferreting ...... we had a few of this years youngsters to try out and the oldies were out to show them the ropes and we were not dissapointed as the young team worked vey well ... the youing jill is going to be good strong worker as she held two strong healthy rabbits at the entrance to the burrow stopping them from bolting untill we reached in and extracted them ....... tegan and jock well and truley shook off summers cobwebs and we had a good morning's sport before the sun got up and i

i have a GSP pup at home or rather my missus does ... its 4 months old and is very easy to train the dog sits, lays, stays, gets back, walks to heel, steady's on command and retrieves .... she is a little hyper and headstrong but as long as you get on her and dont let her get away with anything she is fine .... i will be looking forward to doing a bit with her next season ..........

how much do you want for that al ??? don't know really, as much as I can get , it's 2004 50th Anniversary Model, registered agri, two sets of wheels/tyres road/off-road, I'm the only owner from new. I don't really want to sell but I need to get a mini-digger, so she may have to go. I had pix of it on here ages ago but if there's enough interest I'll plough through my files and upload them again or take some more. cmon then mate give me a price .........
