  1. Some good advice, cheers all. I normally leave food down all the time for them so will change that and see how it goes and get rid of the chicken wire to. I think I might have to completely change the two level hutch to a court and hope the extra space helps.
  2. Hi all, looking for some advice. In the last few weeks 2 of my three jills have taken to scratching at the chicken wire on their hutch which is the most annoying sound ever. They are incredibly persistent, the neighbours are complaining and now the wife is insisting they go. Im having to let them out at night which is fine as we have a high walled enclosed yard but its not practical as a permanent solution. They have a reasonable sized hutch and plenty of stimulation and get out plenty but seem to have got in the habbit of making a fing racket. Any one got an insight as to why they are doing
  3. I have recently had a pup of them and found them great to deal with, kennels were spotless. I dealt mainly with Sally who could talk the back legs of a donkey and thought that David was a nice old boy who loved his dogs, i liked them. Im over the moon with my pup and have no probs lining his pocket as I got what I was looking for same as every one else that goes to him. Will the pup turn out a good grafter? Time will tell, the raw ingredients are there and im looking forward to see how we do together.
  4. Moved into my current area about six month ago and hardly seen any but then I have only been out looking day time to see whats around. Only seen a few about and one with the worst case of mixy I ever seen, glad I found it poor thing. I have a new pup so wont be doing much with him until the back end of next season and hopefully see an improvement in population the season after. Spoke to a local guy that works a hawk and he told me that the season before last he saw his permissions wiped out in a couple of weeks and said it was VHD. Fingers crossed it don't take to long to recover! Im up north
  5. Just wanted to say a big thank you to hw74 for very kindly sending me his silencer for my AA s400. Your a top bloke and its much appreciated. John.
  6. Nope, it don't fit, lol. I didn't think it would and I think that secretly my Father-in-law is probs glad that Im not walking off with anymore of his kit
  7. I was talking to my father-in-law today about putting a mag on the s400 he gave me. He said he had one from his 200 and we were wondering if it would fit. Has anyone tried this or are they just not compatible? Cheers all.
  8. Thats a great idea mate! What locations would you be looking at in the NE ?
  9. Mate your a gent, that would be amazing and a donation will be gladly given to charity. I will pm you my details over
  10. Im comfortable with the .22 springer but I try to get in pretty close. Im looking forward to getting some practice in with the .17 and hopefully start looking at a bit more range. I can't see myself picking up the springer for a while though, it so nice not to have any recoil!
  11. No not yet mate, I think it will be the first thing I buy for it come pay day and then the mag adaptor. Any suggestions on the silencer?
  12. Cracking looking pup mate! Names are the hardest I think. We pick a pup up in a few weeks and I have gone for the easy option and let my 4 year old choose which given the TV programs/ toys, etc he is into was always going to be interesting but he has come up with Salty after Salty Dog on Old Jacks Boat which unless you have a small child you will have not a clue what Im waffling on about, lol. But Im happy with it and he's buzzing! Let us know what you come up with, enjoy.
  13. Off to buy some pellets today to have a play with, I can't believe how much this gun has got me buzzing. I have a feeling my rabbit tally will be going up next season. Going to buy some tictacs to happy days!
  14. I was wondering if you could get a mag for it so thats good new, I did find loading it a bit fiddly and thought it could be a problem in the dark. I am looking forward to the added accuracy to. Can anyone shed any light on how far out you can take a killing shot to? set a 2p coin up at different ranges.. if you cant hit it 5/5 times then thats too far for you to be shooting. it might be 30, 40, 45 50 55 60 yards... depends on your skill mate. Good idea that! Common sense to when I think about it
  15. I don't, can't get them out quick enough I feed small young rabbits whole to the ferrets and the only thing left is the scull and teeth

  17. I always feed it raw, I don't mince it either. Chop the head of for the ferrets then quarter the rest for the dog
  18. Well my farther in law very kindly gave me his AA S400 Classic today as he has really got into pistol shooting and has only ever shot targets. He brought the gun a couple of years ago for field target but never really took to it. Personally I have no interest in paper targets apart from zeroing in and maybe to relieve a bit of boredom. I normally shoot a BSA Lightening .22 and have wanted something a bit smoother for a long time. I would like to know if any of you out there use the AA in .17 on rabbits and how you find it for a clean kill. Im have only ever used .22 and though Im sure the.17
  19. Sorry for your loss mate, not a nice thing to happen, atb.
  20. The pup im getting is out of Kubla to mate Won't be ready until easter. I think your right, defo a Marmite thing, probs not a bad name for a pup either, lol.
