  2. Thing is I did send him with food but I can't be sure they used it, said they did but sadley it don't make any difference now just got to get him right. Thanks for the advice lads, will get some yogurt tomorrow to
  3. I'm wanting a bushing dog but in no hurry as am bring on a young lurcher so starting to look a bit deeper at options. For those that are not taken by borders what would you say lets them down? I'm not sure what I'm going to end up with yet but I'm pretty sure it will be a terrier or terrier cross
  4. Thanks for the replys all. Had him on chicken and rice now since Friday and hopefully the meds will have him sorted soon poor lad. I think being in kennels defo stressed him out which is gutting as I have been putting so much work into him and whilst I know it's only a temporary set back its a big price to pay to have gone to a wedding. He is a lot more settled now but won't be doing it again for anybody.
  5. Any one had experience of this? Dog was in kennels for a few days over bank holiday and has jelly like poop with flecks of blood since. Second trip to vets since last Friday and told collitis. Got antibiotics and Kaogel liquid plus some tins of food for intestine problems. Fingers crossed it does the job!
  6. Anybody on here use boarder terriers as bushing dogs, what are they like?
  7. Lovely pup mate, my first Hancock is coming up 7 months now and I could not be happier with him. Good luck
  8. Same thing with my collie X, coming up 7 months now and all normal now.
  9. Well I got back and all was fine, plenty of poo but not as bad as I thought. Gave then a good clean out and had them out running around and they seem happy as ever.
  10. Well went to appointment this morning and thankfully its nothing sinister. Turns out they can some times get a back log of poo and because its uncomfortable they tend to pluck the hair out which I had seen her doing. Any one else ever come across this? They just squeezed the sh!t out of her and charged me £17 which I was happy with. Bald patch on back of neck is from jill jab, so all looks fine with her for the season ahead
  11. Cheers! Yes his ears are on the large side, he don't seem to mind though, lol.
  12. Not great pics but now I know how thought I would put some on.
  13. Fingers crossed this works!
  14. Well done! Yeah, I thought it was great they did that for all the kids, my boy was pleased as punch which was a bonus as he was winging about going in the first place and now wants to know when the next ones on.
  15. Went to Uplands show today, first proper dog show I have been to and really enjoyed it. Lots of great looking dogs and a really good atmosphere. One of the organisers told us the kids were up in the ring and I said the boy was a bit young. He said he just had to stand at the edge and they would all get a bag of sweets. Well that was us all sold so he slipped in with the dog and ended up coming third which made his and our day. Thanks to Uplands lurcher and long dog club for a great afternoon. Have added a pic, hope it uploads.
  16. Thanks for the replies I appreciate it! She seems absolutely fine in her self which Im hoping is a good sign. I have been reading about adrenal disease online which implies the bald patch at base of tail could indicate is the case but would you expect the ferret to be showing signs such as weight loss and she is only about 18 month too. Im wondering with the small patch at the back of the neck if she has been scratching and nibbling at the fur rather than it falling out due to an illness. I think a trip to the vets is inevitable to find out one way or the other, hopefully its nothing an finger
  17. I noticed a couple of days ago one of my jills had thinning hair at the base of her tail. Checked her over this morning and its quite bald now but has a bit of downy type hair still. She also has a small patch at the base of her neck to. What could be causing this? I have just put them into a new much bigger hutch so I don't know if the move has stressed her out or if its more sinister. Any advise welcome, cheers.
  18. Head torch, cheap, easy and hand free
  19. Having been to neither in the past and with them both being on the same day can anyone who has suggest which one to go to. Uplands is just down the road which makes it more convenient but which one has the most going on as I will be taking my wife and son with me. Cheers all
