reel my neck in ?? how can you trust someone you dont know , my step daughter has requests for friends on face book from people , we tell her not a chance they could be anyone pretending to be someone else , first rule dont talk to strangers , I didn't think of that, hey Vin have you been secretly grooming me?
-
Reel ya neck in a bit mate, although I haven't met the bloke he's answered a few questions for me in the past and is one of the people on here that I would trust. If he were dodgy there would not have been so many offering him help, that's for sure, because people like that soon get found out.
-
No, that would definitely have been shooters Yep, you can't beat an afternoon out with the old speargun.
-
Sorry if I came across the wrong way mate, as Matty says I should have been less eager to condemn your first post. Reading this one you come across as just wanting the best for your dog so I hope it does all you want in the future.

There's a thread on here like this almost every week, FFS, why don't these people take a little while to actually learn something about the animal before shooting out and buying one?? No-one in their right mind would go out and buy a telly or car without knowing a thing about it, why on earth do people do it with a dog. You say you've been around lurchers for a long time, have you not learned anything from your mates, or asked them any questions at all? I have a bad feeling there is going to be yet another unwanted dog for sale in the near future, when the novelty wears off and the reality

It's the first time I've ever seen cammo net used for curtains

What a load of utter rubbish. I know many Lurchers who have gone to good, active country homes. Some of the best dog men in the country have asked me to rehome their dogs for many different reasons. Please don't spout nonsense when you haven't the first idea of what you're talking about. The best home for a Lurcher is a good, knowledgable working home....however, the worst home in the world is ending up with someone who got the dog for free, wasn't willing to pay £ and sees the dog as a dispendable commodity. Comments like yours do not help the dogs in any way. Edit: And I wasn't suggest

Just been out for some more humiliation from the wabbits

It's great to see a man admit to not being Gods gift to the lurcher world, just a genuine honest trier. I'm sure you'll cop for a goodun next time, and all the best with it when you do. -
Here's my dog Mouse. He's only had a couple yet but I'm hoping he will do me proud this year.

You shouldn't.

how do ya fancy morroco!!! or WALES!!!!! ya eu does'nt cover ya here. I've always been under the impression that the EU card covered you in the EU, never realised it didn't cover getting you back home. Mind you, we always had vehicle recovery, so we could just have sat on the wreck in the back of a lorry I suppose.
-
The EU health card covers all medical treatment but the Greek hospital have told this woman that they cant do the operation she needs, so the money is for getting her back to a UK hospital by air ambulance. The EU card doesn't cover this. Me and my missus have been on motorbiking holidays all over Europe for the past 10 years with just this card as insurance, I'm bloody glad now we didn't have a bump..

He should get himself a bullx....

You'll only get the rate of water that the shower allows, which with electric showers is not a great deal, so I doubt it would be very successful. That diverter valve will be flapping around too, so personally it wouldn't be for me.

My thoughts were the same. If the parents are telling the truth this fox jumped into 2 different cots to attack 2 babies, that makes no sense to me.
-
Keep at it mate. I'm a novice to all this too and had the same problems you describe. 3 months ago my dog would run in circles round me before bringing and dropping the dummy at my feet, never to hand. He's slowly but surely got a little better each week until now he retrieves straight back to me every time and to hand about 50% of the time. If it's any help I've found that if you crouch as the dog coms to you it seems encourage the dog closer, and also don't praise as he approaches, wait till you have the ball or dummy in your hand, then give him loads of praise. advice on how/when to train
tsteve9999 replied to pegstaff's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
We all know thats against the law so I'm sure no-one on here does it, they are all law abiding citizens you know -
I put 4xlb bags of tripe and beef to thaw out on a table in the garden yesterday morning, when I went to it on the afternoon there was only 2lb in the bowl and a very contented lurcher lying nearby. He must have thought it was a carvery.
-
I know I should point the gun and not aim it, and can hit clays at a rate of just over 50%, the trouble is I discovered that birds don't fly in nice straight lines like clays lol. I think my main problem was that I was too eager and was shooting as soon as a bird appeared, I plan to wait longer and let them come closer tomorrow.
-
bead?? The end sight bead on the gun mate. I'm new to this too, I managed to fire off a box and a half of cartridges a couple of weeks ago at crows and never hit a thing , so you're not on your own. I'm off for another go tomorrow and I'm not coming back home till I've hit one, so I may be offline for a week or so..

I'd have said Brown=leftwing labour, Cameron=right wing labour. But yes, sooner or later we are all going to have to pay the money these tw#ts are throwing away back, and it will need someone with backbone to do it. Tom

350,000 deer killed in Britain, each year mostly by shotgun
tsteve9999 replied to bob.243's topic in General Talk
I'd be interested how much Mr Watson, the head of the "deer initiative" is earning from this government funded (e.g taxpayer) charity. And according to my crappy maths, 74,000 accidents a year works out at around 200 or so a day. Maybe the "deer initiative" need to exagerate a bit to justify itself?? -
To be honest I think it's well worth it. I can take him there for minor things without worrying about cost and I also get wormers and flea powder for free too.
-
Mine is in Walsall and has his own insurance policy which costs me 150 quid a year. Everything is covered except stuff such as when they have to send off to outside agencies for blood samples etc. There is no excess and so far they have been fine with me, and they say the price will stay the same year on year as he gets older. My dogs been a couple of times for upset stomachs and once when he shut his tail in a door, and they have done everything without a quibble. Whether they would be classed as good running dog vets I don't know, but it suits me at the moment.
-
Either the divertor valve or flow valve, depending on which make of boiler it is, either one is expensive and not a DIY job. It may be the hot water thermistor (about 10 quid and easily changed by yourself as a rule) but it's rare for them to give out. Tom
