    Going for variety over numbers this year Some barnvelders, from my own flock Barnvelders are my fav utility birds, good eggs, and good meat. I also have a broody barnvelder who has hatched 5 today. These indian runners I bought in and these are the newest, some lavender pekins, also from my own flock, and I also have a broody sitting on some due next week. All others are incubated, and I have 16 turkey eggs in the incubator now. So who else is hatching what ?

    This is the best dog I have ever seen working. 3/4 sal 1/4 grey Did everything, and did it all well. Ferreting, lamping, daytime hare, every quarry bar 1, even this beast never took a d/t/r/s/s/h Now long dead, hit a tree lamping a rabbit, just a random run, on the way home. Real shame. Owned by the same bloke who also owned the second best dog (bitch) I have seen work, and the bitch that got me hooked

    Ah, thats a good tip cheers. I'll add a couple of barnvelder eggs on day 7. Do they have any different feeding requirements, apart from having to be taught ?

    Havent incubated any of these yet, but a friend just gave me 20 fresh turkey eggs, so going to give it a go. Just wondering if anyone has any tips regarding raising turkeys? I've hatch hundreds of chicken/duck and quail eggs over the years, But these are new to me. I'll be using octogon 20's at 37.5,an using brinsea brooders once hatched. So any raising an incubation tips greatly appreciated by those who have.

    Yeah, the dogs were marking the rats, and marking well. He didnt want them all chomped like the one the dog did have, as he was selling them for food, hense using his hands..

    In my head, i liken it to eating fish, i love fish, eat plenty of different sorts, so theres always a chance I might choke on a fish bone, but haven't in 38 years, and will continue to eat fish. My dogs love raw and cooked bones.....

    all this 1/2 cross crossed with another half cross of different breeding, as in deer hound grey cross bull grey ect, throws a very mixed and varied litter, so there is a lot more luck involved in getting a good one, the more dogs you add to a mix. As they can throw any which way.

    Could be a good thing if this grows legs, get a more normal side out there, the city still believes that the ban was all about hoorays on horse back hunting down charlie with 50 odd dogs. Most don't realise that a man and his running dog filling the pot, which is a romantic thought in many s eyes, is now illegal and carries jail time.
