    The Yanks have a pretty decent fur market, don't forget. Something considered barbaric in Blighty. It's the cash reward that's kept their skills alive, and while they're much more inclined to keep the old ways the cash prize is still what attracts many to what is a painstakingly tedious, and lonely job. Sometimes dangerous too. Trapping is indeed an ye olde time skill but if you took the approved spring traps back to a time when bows and arrows accounted for most of the world's game you'd be burnt at the stake as a witch!     Not as easy for his family to watch the paramedics scoop him into a bag... They're the ones that deserve the sympathy. If someone wants to check out, fair one, but do it where someone doesn't have to clean up the f***ing mess.

    In all honesty, if you're in the working dog game does it make a scrap of difference if the dog is KC recognised? If you're in it for the money, then congratulations! If you're not then it changes absolutely nothing.

    I have every faith in you! Agreed. A working example of of a type of evolution. One practice could not destory the other so they learned to coexist. Paganism and Christianity, in this context, evolved so that both could save face.

    Fair point, mate, but there's a lot of 50+ MP's leading that charge too. I have no issue with progress but I agree with your point about progress in the sense that it seems it has to be made to appear to be doing something, even if it is asinine.
