    Fair comments, scothunter, but I don't think we're going to allow the safety aspect of the current legislation to be completely overturned.     Maybe I'm just deluded? I believe that my fate is in my hands, not waiting for the police to respond to a 999 call. Why shouldn't a 7st woman be allowed to fatally shoot a 15st rapist? Why shouldn't a 10st account be allowed to defend himself, against a gang of lads wielding knives as they try to steal his laptop as he's on his way back to his car? It's not about how many gunshots you hear it's about ending this balance of victim disarmament and criminal entitlement. When the police arrive you're already a statistic.

The highest violent crime rates, in the US, are the places where there are the most restrictions on firearms.     I personally didn't administer an injection. It was done by a vet. I'm not sure what the AI was, as different ones have been used, but it's basically an overdose of anesthetic. I can hear the cash register, going kerching, so I'll elaborate. I have never dealt with feral cats, for free. My pest management solutions cost the client, or they kept whatever the problem species was.     Just to clear this up a bit. If you're asking what the best calibre is, for feral cats, on a public hunting forum, I feel you're already bringing unnecessary attention to what you need to be doing. Especially as muppets, like me, get to read and comment on it. Joe Public doesn't give a shit about cockroaches, and mice, but when you start talking about taking Tiddles, to the afterlife, you're already calling in a f**k tonne of negative PR.     I was actually taking the piss. Shooting a cat, in a live trap, is going to ensure you get all the wrong attention. Location, ricochet, trap damage, etc. Point blank with a .22LR, or 12G, is overkill IMHO. Air rifle will do the job but again when they find out you're that guy you'll pretty much blackball yourself, same as the guys that don't back-fill digs. Live trap. Removal from the site, followed by lethal injection. Did it for years. Still do. Don't know of a better way.

    Chris; What range / load / choke do ye recommend for this? Only, frankly, I'm in a bit of a situation here ..... I have a cat trap that I value hugely. It's a very old, very good trap. A genuine Fuller. I loan it out to my neighbour, when a feral turns up and starts destroying our mutual hay store. Only trouble is; He has this tendency to drop the whole damn lot in a cattle trough! That's just f**king Wrong. Yet, I've honestly just never known what load, distance, choke combination I could point at the trap.     Have a look at Cold Steel's Special Forces Shovel. Don't be put off by the name. They're a copy of the old soviet issue trenching spade. They work really well.
