  1. Not me Foxdropper, I don't feel the cold. I'll still go hunting in a thong and wooly socks, and of course a flat cap.
  2. I've just read on another forum that there's a very good chance that in the next while lamping might be outlawed here in Ireland between the months of September and March. I have very mixed opinions on this .
  3. Just out of interest because I don't get EDRD anymore, but is this series by Eddie Chapman new or reprinted ? He was always one of my favourite authors on the subject.
  4. If you read my post probably ya f**ken twit ya would of read I'd say your a grass. Educated guess that was on your track record of knocking f**k out of lads on here. Now any lies you have on me if bull shit as I run in a very very tight circle. So go a head fire away Neil with your lies. I'm used of you calling me dog thiefs ect ect. All because 20 years ago I had a bitch of booth and kept with the bitches side of line from then on. Now tell the good people on here about your pic in blucks book down in the hole. Fucken road kill you had and went out like a clown and dug a hole in the field PMS
  5. Seems hard to believe but I agree, but at the same time there's certain folk I'll never sit down with and talk. The way I see it is that if something I feel very passionate about is worth arguing over then I'll argue. If arguing wasn't enough then I'll fight. I've had lads at my door threatening me because someone told them I called them a dog thief. He ended up in my sitting room drinking tea and was a nice chap. When the rat (yes a rat who's rang the Gardi when he seen someone illegally hunting) who told him the lie then rang me saying he was coming for me he didn't show up. A bigger cur
  6. I would have thought that the Blue Paul was gone before Mr Breays time if you consider that he died in the 70s and the bulk of his breeding was probably from the 30s on wards . If the History books are to be believed the Blue Paul was gone before this. The Blue Paul was just a localised Scottish fighting dog the same as the Staffordshire was to the English Black Country. It's also believed that the Blue Paul became extinct when the Scottish dog fighters started to meet the English dog fighters. If Roger Westmoreland shot all of Mr Breays stock after his death that's very sad indeed but o

  8. I'll start with you Roy, Tell everyone on here ALL that you know about me , please, including how I'm a grass ???? Go ahead. Let fly. Then I'll tell only a few truths about you. Tomorrow I'll let fly on a few other.
  9. The vast terrain you can hunt and all the different quarry would make any hunter envious, but you's are not the land of the free you's boast about and the restrictions and harassment yous get from the authorities followed up by the punishments makes me believe that I actually live in the land of the free.
  10. I average 2 a week Pabs. You ?? In fact if a couple of weeks go and I don't get a threat or hear a new rumour I ring my agent and threatens to sack his ass.
  11. Yep, that was the old fashioned way of making a bit of a name in this game. Head down and working the dogs. And do you know something Ratface ? It still is. The bullshitters and pedigree forging money hungry puppy farmers always get seen through . Albeit, some see through them faster than others.
  12. If that's aimed at me then believe me I'm one of the least two faced people you'll ever meet. I tend to tell the truth a bit too much for my own good which means I aint too faced. The likes of Stop End is having his stab at me now. NOW there's a little two faced prick. He can stand in a room with two or three other lads being nice to them and the second they're gone he calls them wankers. Johnny Bluck is the same. He and Stop End would get on great as they're both dreamers who are two faced. Stop End hasn't even got the county correct (he has a habit of getting it wrong) as the lads Bluck
  13. He never came and dug to any of your terriers did he lol...wonder why he went to the meath men and blew you off.. I think your the only terrier man from the book he didnt wana meet. Are you saying Johnny Bluck is a liar too ?
  14. LOL, good one but my money is already on Abolitionist.
  15. So he's back into the Russells it seems. After saving the working Border from extinction and shoving 35 years of breeding into 2 years with his black terriers and coming over here to Ireland where he dug to the best terrier in the WHOLE of Ireland he's now keeping Russells. A hero for the working terrier.
  16. JMO but that gentleman made it look a lot more simple than it actually is. The secret is finding the seam and using that to break the rock. Frank Buck was famous for doing the same with TNT which was available easily then (my grandfather used to sell TNT over the counter for farmers who wanted to blow a new well.) .
  17. https://youtu.be/FRMf7zA77l8 Some lads will say this has nothing to do with terrierwork but you often read of the old timers doing it, particularly in Northern Britain. How many could do it nowadays if a terrier was stuck ? And has anyone on here ever seen it done to rescue a terrier ? P.S. does anyone know how to put up the vid within the thread.
  18. No such thing as a good pair of wellies, I'm convinced it.
  19. IMO the reason the Pine Marten and the Buzzard are now at troublesome levels is because of artificial releases. All that anti propaganda about certain species being driven to the brink by blood thirsty gamekeepers stems from the days of intensive shooting estates. Name 10 large shooting estates in Ireland ? Could you name 5 ? The truth is there's very few gamkeepers in Ireland. The truth is that the Irish landscape has never ,until recently, been suitable for a lot of these species. But now with help from forestry subsidies you have the wildlife departments releasing artificial numbers into a
  20. If Vice Grip was the dog who served the mother of the pups last time then it's something I wouldn't know much about other than the owner of the bitch rates that line highly.
  21. That sounds like them. The dam side of them is new ground for me but I do know that when she was bred from before one of them went to ground and was dug too at 8 months.
  22. Thanks for that Glyn, glad you got them .General, those photos are of interest to you too. He's 10 months in the pics, and a walking b*****d. He's nice Neil. Is that dogs sire Paddy? I get confused sometimes because my mate has 2 bitches from 2 different litters. Then he has them pups from that same litter at 10 months. The older ones I'm near certain are out of the same dam. His dad wasn't well there and had to get a quadruple bypass so he's out of action for a while and can't do much so they had too many to look after and had to thin a few out. So he gave one of the pups to his friend in to
  23. I'd love to get the few call outs I have now done properly because they're folk who look after me and keep their stock right. It can be a struggle to get up at 5.30 but when you're out these mornings it's well worth it. To see the other wildlife and take in that early morning air is a reward in it's self. Hunting aside it's my favourite time of the year. With you all the way there mate! Not a sniff of fox all morning. Walked a lot, done a bit of calling when the breeze was right and not as much as a fresh scat. I did see a few rabbits with what I believe to be RHD in an area that used to
  24. It brings it closer to home when you're the victim. I remember a family of Whitehackle fowl I had and the last hen from the family was sitting on 12 eggs. I was feeding one morning and had a peep in and could see her sitting on her nest. After another while I checked her again but realised something was wrong. The fox had made a little hole beside her and when she pecked at his muzzle he pulled her head off. Hence the reason I thought she was still hatching. The farmer who I was out this morning for also fattens some free range turkeys and one raid would be all it would take to ruin his Chr
