Just hoping for a further few opinions on this...... We seem to have hit a bit of a stumbling block in the negotiations of this bet .......................the original bet was that id have no contact whatsoever with anyone during my week alone in the wilderness....ie,no phone !.......however,the more people i talk to about it the more i keep hearing folk say i really shouldnt be doing it without having a fully charged phone for emergencies....even my guerilla warfare advisor off here said to phone in twice per day at regular times ...not sure how good the signal might be but.................

I know what you mean......to be honest it was only being on the recieving end of Italian hatred that really brought home for me the bitterness over the Heysel thing.....About 6 or 7 years ago id followed my West Ham to Italy for a Uefa cup game in Palermo,which is the complete opposite end of Italy to Juventus......yet there were literally thousands of Juventus fans there to " welcome " us !!.......it was a pretty scarey time as we didnt realise what their problem was until after hours of hostility and a bunch of arrests the Italian plod escorted us to a big sports hall for our own safety.....

The reason Fury took the route he did was to enable him to get a world rating.....which he now has.................so to now go back to fighting an old journeyman tells you a lot about where there confidence is at.........he could of fought a few world ranked heavyweights and probably got a world title shot within 3 fights..........but it seems on second thoughts they have decided to back track and pick up easy money......... Id expect a mauling messy fight with Fury stopping him after 4 or 5

I agree with every word of that...............but lets have it right,when Amir Khan was knocking over dead bodies early in his career everyone was raging and slagging him off,what makes it ok for Fury to do it ?......This fight is a ridiculous mismatch for all the reasons Brookie states......Fury is British and Commonwealth champion his career and quality of opponent should be going forwards not backwards !!!! Personally i dont think Fury is the best heavyweight in Britain but its certainly fair argument to say he is as he is British champion.........but a fight like this is a backward step a

Im exactly the same......not into betting shops myself but i,ll bet on virtually anything ive had some ridiculous bets over the years......myself and a few pals have an account.......with each other thats how stupid some of the things we bet on are.....we normally carry a bit of paper around to keep tabs....then settle up every few months.........sad i know. Its all very well defending bull breed dogs when they bite......but the harsh reality whether us lovers of bull breeds like it or not......is 9 times out of 10 a bull breed dog is going to do a lot more damage than a non bull breed dog simply due to the historical nature of its make up.....ie,to not give up until the job is done,this alone makes them far more dangerous than other breeds...... Id rather be attacked by a 10 stone Rottweiler or Mastiff than a 40 lb Pit Bull. Any dog deserves a bullet if it attacks.....but id make sure its double quick with a bull breed as a good one should be o

As far as im concerned theres no longer such word as " racist ".............................like any other word,when it has so many different meanings and is used in so many different contexts by so many people for so many reasons.................it starts to become a word with no meaning. Say the word " c**t " enough and it starts to lose its descriptive meaning to the point where folk just dont take it serious anymore.

It probably doesnt match it simply because Hagler - Hearns was a historic fight........but the first round of Michael Moorer v Bert Cooper in the early 90,s comes pretty close.....not sure if theres any footage of it but its certainly one to remember. I always preferred the Reg Gutteridge commentary rather than the yanks to that Hagler - Hearns fight......most folk would agree it was the best first round ever simply because of the enormity of the event.....everyone was expecting a chess match for the first few rounds but i believe Hagler won that fight on sheer confidence,he was so confident he could take Hearns best shots he came out and did what Hearns didnt think he could or would do.....as soon as he,d done that there was nowhere for Hearns to go.....great fight. If your on about Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire....theres plenty of open spaces but with a big shopping centre and a load of industrial estates id hardly class it as being out in the sticks.

Well well well its not often im lost for words !!.......Just spent an hour reading through this and can honestly say its the best thread ive seen having been coming on here 6 or 7 years and thinking id read near every word on here ! Having been toying with the idea of a bird for a while this was the perfect read,fantastically written and of huge interest. Thankyou Liam and Dad for such genuinely nice read.
