Just out of curiosity.......what do you misery mongers expect of England at world cups these days ?......realistically ? Keeping in mind countries like Brazil/Spain have squads worth double what ours are. passion,that would help. I had a funny little incident a few years ago im not the greatest driver in the world and i cut up one of these little hairdryer cars with a darkie gangbanger type driving......i flashed my hazards to apologise but i could see in my mirrors the little c**t was giving it all the hand gestures,flashing his lights,bibbing his hooter and screaming like f**k at me......i ignored it...................he got about 6 inches from my back bumper still screaming like a looney........i ignored it.................pulled out alongside me in the face of oncoming traffic looking across screaming and shouting

Bullshit !.......If your a football fan and your not bothered your club/country is not competing in the biggest tournament in the world.....then your not a football fan. ok, so I'm not a football fan then. I can live with that! Last time Wales qualified was in 1954. You dont miss what you've never known.. Last time West Ham won an Fa Cup final was 1980,does it stop me watching the Fa Cup final every year....no....does it stop me feeling gutted my club are not in the final every year.....no...... Must admit i did flick over quick they was into the 3rd round i only watched a few minutes but Butler looked to be working him over so it sounds like more of the same,looking forward to this crappy football match ending now !..........had a bit of a bet earlier ive had Price/Mckenzie/Saunders/Butler/Martinez all to win so 4 out of 5 so far

Doing ok with the canaries had 6 chicks so far though thats between 3 different pairs as they,re only producing 2 eggs at a time for some reason.......aint had a sausage off these goldfinches yet but plenty of time though im off to some little football tournament in a few days so no doubt i,ll miss all the fun !

Anyone see Ovil Mckenzie fight earlier,what a cracking fella he is......proper old school fighter not particularly talented but will fight anyone and always gives everything,never really had much of a break,not a particularly popular fighter,not a great ticket seller,always been avoided......hasnt got a pot to piss in ( i was giving him a lift home from the gym every day last week ).......but finally getting the recognition he deserves,real nice fella as well always saying how grateful he is to England for " letting me live here "......bless his heart........littlle bit out of his reach i t

inconsiderate fooker dying after you`d bought him a mower or was it a bad game under big sam that done him ...... His ol wife even tried to put the blame on me for putting a stop to his exercise .....cant win with some folk i thought i was helping out.....wouldnt mind but he wasnt even a gardener just a family friend type,probably could of done it better myself but felt a bit beholding towards the ol boy...........then again you could be right i lose the will to live myself watching that shit sometimes !

Personally i believe theres plenty of ways to give kids a sense of pride,self worth and respect for themself /others........if national service was on the list as well and its voluntary then great................................................but mandatory....not for me.

Used to have an old boy did ours for his beer money and a visit down the Hammers a few times a year .......we bought one of them ride on mowers for him to use and within a few months he,d dropped stone dead !!......Have a couple of chaps come round fortnightly now they charge 40 quid an hour and use my mower .....I like to think your paying for their expertise as much as their labour so money well spent in my book.

Nah f**k all that.....some people just aint cut out for all that lark it dont make them any less of a man......i dont think you get the best of what a person has to offer through force.......i think in these type of conversations its very easy to forget what you yourself was like as a youngster......being true to ourself a lot of us probably dont have the right to dictate what younguns should be doing as they are likely no worse than we were in many ways.

Italy and Uruguay both have a better world cup record than us,both have beaten us more than we have beaten them,both are betting favorites to finish the group ahead of us..............do we have better more in form players than Pirlo/De Rossi for Italy or Suarez/Cavani for Uruguay..............dont get me wrong im not being negative im hoping to win the whole thing ..........but looking from the outside in theres no real reason to expect us to get out the group.

I dont expect us to get out the group,theres no real reason to think we should...............but like you say the simple lowering of our expectations as a nation i think gives us a fair chance of doing ok................our media have been a national disgrace over the years i dont think they,ll get away with what they have before and that in itself bodes well.

spot on gnash , we had few pit +staffs when I was a kid, and these weren't really fast lane stuff, but apart from a game pit nothing would touch them.And have said before they were always kept in kennel+ runs and only loosed out with my old man there othere wise they didn't come out, there werent really pets like some of my lurchers have been . I love pits but never really looked at them as pet type dogs in 50 years . He,s got to be given the chance................but when the game hits the hour mark he,s the first change id be looking to make...............tournament football is full of " what if,s "..........if he doesnt start a game and we go out in the group stage people will be asking why we didnt play our top goalscorer.......a player with the sort of ability to change games has to be given the chance to do so in my opinion.

Cracking character Denny.....i was a prick and fell out with him in a row over football a few years before he died ( he was a big Spurs fan )......but a great boxing man from a big boxing family. Ive heard that said many times......didnt he leech onto Tyson right at the end of his career.
