  1. He,s got to be given the chance................but when the game hits the hour mark he,s the first change id be looking to make...............tournament football is full of " what if,s "..........if he doesnt start a game and we go out in the group stage people will be asking why we didnt play our top goalscorer.......a player with the sort of ability to change games has to be given the chance to do so in my opinion.
  2. With every respect RemyBolt.......your pal is probably not the best person to ask.....i have my doubts either you or him have ever even seen a pure performance bred bulldog let alone owned one.......asking Cesar Milan about the ins and outs of a fighting dogs mind is like asking Jeremy Kyle about the ins and outs of a junkies mind.......or asking a driving instructor his views on Formula 1 racing. You probably dont realise what you are doing but in my opinion its the height of ignorance to be telling people who have probably forgotten more on a subject than you will ever know what is what
  3. Cracking character Denny.....i was a prick and fell out with him in a row over football a few years before he died ( he was a big Spurs fan )......but a great boxing man from a big boxing family. Ive heard that said many times......didnt he leech onto Tyson right at the end of his career.
  4. Very clever that you must have the patience of a saint !......................Not my sort of thing but can certainly appreciate a job well done
  5. Not for me mate.....not at welterweight anyway.......be on the fringes but i couldnt put him above fighters like Henry Armstrong or Kid Gavilan,Napoles etc even though im reaching back a bit obviously......and certainly not if your putting Hearns/Leonard/Duran at welter. Brilliant......sometimes its all about timing of fights aint it.....and wee Barry caught him at the right time i dont think Pedroza ever returned to the same heights as before that fight and if i remember right Mcguigan dominated throughout.......would he have done that a few years earlier,i doubt it.
  6. But where do you draw the line with " never clicked " they both won world titles and made succesful defences...........all time greats no but how many great fighters can go on an all time great list.........personally id book Mayweather top ten on any all time Welterweight list. i agree gnash but they were superc But where do you draw the line with " never clicked " they both won world titles and made succesful defences...........all time greats no but how many great fighters can go on an all time great list.........personally id book Mayweather top ten on any all time Welterweight list. .
  7. We got steady Teddy on the plot now Wilf .......i think the theory there is he,s probably the only person Carrol could beat in a running race !!! I like Carrol id like to of seen him included in the England squad he gives a great alternative if/when the chips are down. And by the looks of things Gnash and WilfYou've got Emile Heskey on the way Lol lol No chance mate.................the fat man is silly................... but he,s not that silly........wont happen.
  8. It would be funny if it wasnt so f****n ridiculous....................i mean if your looking for a white rhino its common sense to pick out a black one !!
  9. Lets hope for everyones sake your mate Ian has a better understanding of his chosen breed than you have !!.............Its this repulsive fur mommy nonsense that all but destroyed the breed in the first place if someone wants a cute ball of fluff dont choose a breed that is the worlds premier dog at inflicting pain and violence !...........A dog will take its death in a fight because it wants to......not because you want it to.

  11. ooops didnt put that very well did i....certainly no pun intended.
  12. Now when you put it like that .............I like your thought process mate......another persons posts to keep an eye out for Im probably not that clued up on todays opponents so you could well be right i just look at the ease he deals with styles......but as a welterweight you certainly couldnt put him on an all time list with the likes of Robinson/Leonard/Walcott/Napoles....but then its the age old saying " every great fighter needs a great opponent "
  13. It cant be that difficult surely.........get a list of names who are in the frame......anyone whos names down and doesnt pay gets exposed as a tight fisted cheating c**t........................................ I,ll have Argentina
  14. I know what your saying mate and you are right theres fighters that dont get talked about anymore.....i loved the ,s era of lightweights....guys like Alexis Arguello,Bobby Chacon,Rosario,Haugen etc............Arguello was one of the most complete technicians to ever lace a glove yet he,s been completely forgotten about..... Id disagree about Mayweather though.....certainly not best ever but i do rate him as an all time grea....,different type of fighter to McCallum but yes you are right he was massively underrated....likewise a fighter i dont know if you remember called Sumbu Kalambay ?...
  15. No i wasnt mate though i was ringside when he beat Herol Graham a few years earlier.....i knew Rod Douglas at the time and he was fighting on the undercard and he,d got me tickets,he got a first round ko if memory serves me right.......but yes McCallum was a fantastic technician always looked like he was just plodding along didnt he but his distance and reading of a fight were second to none.......threw a decent body shot as well by all accounts
  16. Beautiful........playing the game of life the best you can with the hand your dealt......................thats a man id like to know.
  17. I agree with you there Neems i think a lot of Amir Khans early stoppages were similar its almost as if fighters are playing on the " not firing back " thing that go,s through a referees mind................the fact that barely a punch is landed seems to make no difference a quick windmill attack and its all over.....nobody wants to see a fighter get hurt but you cant take away the essence of what the sport is about.
  18. Cor blimey hurry up with these pictures will ya guv .............Im thick as arseholes and i worked it out in the end im sure you can..................mind you i did have my daughters help !............. Try your best mate im looking forward to seeing this now.......no pressure like
  19. Better too early than too late......but there has been some poor stoppages recently in British rings.
  20. you ever see any Ali fight's gnash ? or meet him.! The ol man took me and my brother to Highbury for the second Cooper fight but i was only 5 or 6 i cant remember anything about it......the trainer Jimmy Tibbs was like a big brother/uncle figure to us and was fighting on the undercard.... he actually sparred a few rounds with Ali just for publicity this is an old photo he gave me. Around 15 years ago while Ali was over here visiting a gym i managed to shake his hand and he whispered something in my ear but i have no idea what he said unfortunately as his speech was none too cleve
  21. No im not much of a book reader....who/whats it about ?
  22. . Loved to have been there for honygan and camacho My mate sent me a t shirt. Hagler hearns , leonard duran cezars palace there was a ticket And the beast v hagler was another. I never really used to go to fights unless i knew one of the fighters involved hence the big superfights i was happy to watch on telly like anyone else ......should of seen Ray Mancinis second fight with Bramble but our car broke down on the way ended up sitting at the roadside listening on the radio
  23. We got steady Teddy on the plot now Wilf .......i think the theory there is he,s probably the only person Carrol could beat in a running race !!! I like Carrol id like to of seen him included in the England squad he gives a great alternative if/when the chips are down.
  24. Too many to list but the most memorable for me were when i was in America mid ,s seeing Lloyd Honeyghan take Don Curry,s title there was only a handful of us all out the same gym......Boza Edwards against Camacho in Miami and my ol mucker Dennis Andries going up against Hearns at the Cobo Hall in Detroit........all memorable because neither fight was there more than a handful of British fans there.......I was one of 9 fans Dennis had against Hearns Was ringside for Bruno/Witherspoon on a totally gutting night.................would love to of been there when Frank beat McCall but was other
