Me and a couple of equally naive pals have just invested a couple of quid in a few horses trained by Paul Nicholls....what a carry on its not cheap is it i didnt realise the dough involved in that game ?.....time will tell i suppose.

Think we'll see a nice controlled performance from Benns boy tonight i said from day 1 i never thought he would win a world title and i still dont....but he,s a lovely kid who's worked hard at his craft so i,ll be interested to see how far his ability can take him its a big step up tonight but he has a ridiculous engine so fancy Conor can nick a clearish points win.

Same here ive done a couple of Falconry courses that got me all geared up to build a mews and get bang into it but realistically i know i couldnt commit the time needed to a bird......fascinating sport though.

Yep,good sensible post mate ive said for a while theres a few things boxing can learn from Ufc....theres not so much " building " and more actual " competing " in Ufc less emphasis put on unbeaten records etc.....more realistic weight divisions as well.

You're just sounding like a " fan " talking mate theres no point in trying to rubbish names who are ranked... rankings are there for a reason,whether you personally think they are any good is totally irrelevant top ranked fighters have to fight other top ranked fighters otherwise they can just grab any unheard of names out the air to make them look like competitive fights.

I wouldnt say he made an impression but old Mr Bishop gave me a real desire to achieve something,anything but that wasnt his intention....he was a big powerful man who knew the type of kid i was and took it upon himself to try and dominate me now because he knew he wouldnt be able to later on....just a very nasty person who i could never quite get past he was more like the bully type screw than a teacher....but no i wouldnt say teachers or people in general like that made me fearless like you say....just gave me a massive motivation to achieve

I agree id like to see Joshua go back to what got him there which is getting after people Fury has never been walked down and pressured by any fighter particularly one that can put punches together....the obvious betting will be Joshua early or Fury late but like you say i cant see Fury backing off for 12 rounds i dont think the whole emotion/machismo thing will allow him to.

Thats why there are rankings though mate....its to stop fighters at world level from fighting absolute no hopers.....Ruiz got himself into that position so no he isnt average he's in the top handful of heavyweights in the world on merit......again,the only thing you can gauge fighters by is the meaningful fights they have.....if Fury and Wilder had been willing to take such fights they may well have a handful of losses between them.....but they havent/dont/wont.

Centre spread in the News of the World for getting caught " matching " 14 week old puppies probably qualifies the chap a little bit strange as well !.....and booking him as a bare knuckle boxer of some sort i find pretty amusing the geezer was 7 stone ringing wet !.......certainly wouldnt speak bad of the chap if he,s passed away but id say describing him as " strange " is probably pretty mild.

What people forget though mate is Joshua is NOT an accomplished stand off boxer he is a combination type banger who wants to close you down and trade up....it is totally alien to him to box on the back foot....but he proved if needed he can do it. Fury on the other hand wants to be on the back foot and create space when pressured,he doesnt want to trade up because when he does he gets put on his arse. So the reality is Joshua has proved he can do both.....Fury hasnt......how important that will prove to be who knows.

I couldnt really give a shit who wins to be honest but picking up on your comment of a fighter can only fight who is out there ( which is true )....thats what rankings are for,once you reach world level the only meaningful fights are against other world ranked fighters and both Wilder and Furys records in that department are quite frankly disgusting....how they have been allowed to avoid meaningful fights for so long is beyond most peoples comprehension....yes Joshua has been beaten but that can happen when you take meaningful fights i admire the lads competitive desire and equally despise Wil

Absolutely right.....outside of Uk nobody really gives a shit....the division is so poor that 2 pretty average fighters are drawing huge attention in Britain,but only because they're British.....when clear,obvious fights are not made you rob fans of their own era and for the heavyweight division in Britain this is that era....if this fight doesnt get made soon British boxing will suffer over the coming years.

The thing is mate i wasnt a hellraiser type of kid just stubborn and confrontational but these teachers were actually the types of people you meet later on in life that have to be dealt with or you get trampled over......not just the violence they dished out but the mental torture telling you how useless you are and wont ever amount to anything.... Ive had the conversation with several pals over the years and we all come to the same conclusion that beyond basic reading and writing school taught us literally nothing......ok things were different back then but i can honestly say that school was pretty much about survival for us we had a few teachers who were just sadistic bullies and even the ok teachers hated our guts....when i listen to my kids talk about their schooling and how nice and friendly it all was i cant believe teachers in our area and our day got away with what they did i remember a few years ago a bird we've known since chil

I could probably sort my barnet out myself but when a few of us go together its a good little social occasion down the barbers,few cups of rosey all round,chat and a giggle with the owners,supporting a local business everyones a winner... ive quite missed all that,amongst other things.

The son of a pal of mine actually got sacked from Asda for chasing a shoplifter up the road....admittedly he put the boot in defending himself but thats why big stores dont want their staff getting caught up in that kind of shit they'd rather just add the cctv to the rest of the collection for plod at the end of the month !

Thats lovely and good for you......trouble is the society we now live in within certain areas if i saw a young lad offering that kind of assistance to an old gent in my old manor id straight away become suspicious and its terrible to think like that.
