  1. you've got me there Shaark, ive no interest in racing mate but as far as i know, they race them in weight classes in England, so i take it personal choice comes into it and they breed for whatever weight class they prefer. in Ireland they race in height classes which seems unfair to me and less skilful ,in that you dont have to come in at a certain weigh. personally i would kennel a couple of them little 16 pounders just for the sheer craic they would be.
  2. his mother was another non ped, Weardale Spot, she was also the mother of the white bitch
  3. plenty of greyhound in both sides of his ped Shaark,, he was just under 23".
  4. another one , sired by andy pandy, a cracker of a dog
  5. couple of my mates i had kennelled here for while, white bitch out of never say never, blue dog, out of fat boy slim, litter mate to the boom boom darlo bitch, i liked them, ild make room for a small non ped no problem.
  6. a glen is just a wheaten with the dwarfism gene, i suspect wheaten breeders who have inbred too heavily have probably threw the odd glen types in litters, ive had dandie dimond types in a litter of inbred bedlingtons, perfectly healthy, normal head and body size but with the short legs, front ones turned out. a fair few breeds have came about the same way.
  7. not a cross i've tried before but couldn't say no to the gift of this little straight half bitch
  8. another thing to consider is that non peds tend to have far better coats
  9. ive a real soft spot for this fella, my little 18 month old house dog, he's not much bigger than some patterdales, 15"ats and barely 29lb, keeps himself in decent order, loves to run the hills , wrecking cover.
  10. ive a few border pups here, their only youngsters but full of attitude , never kept borders before but i have to say i do like them , their keen.
  11. betadine paste is very good also
  12. haven't owned a lurcher in a few years but a friend gifted me this little yoke this morning, straight half wheaten x greyhound bitch, was his pick of the litter for lending the greyhound to the breeder, nice out going confident pup, gonna be strong, you can feel it in her even at this young age.
  13. the topic is about kc whippets, not lurchers , ch Manta was a show champion.
  14. an old pic, not a kick in the arse of 30 yrs ago, of my first barnesmore dog with a daughter of newcombes blue, the dog was ch manta x a painted pony daughter, very game little dog , he ferreted , lamped and even took a few single handed fox
  15. out and out show stuff now days, their original stuff was like a whos who of the coursing field and produced some top class workers, i worked some crackers of painted pony but they're wrecked them as workers by constantly mating to top winning show dogs. i wouldn't touch them with a barge pole these days.
  16. another small one that would fly to ground
  17. nice strong little non ped bitch , 18" 30 pound, nch never say never x sup rch/nch weardale spot

  19. hard to believe these pups are still here, bushers selling for £300 and you can't get a third of that for a well bred terrier pup out of two genuine earth dogs, it baffles me !
  20. no problem Keith, she's here for you mate, speak tomorrow..
  21. 1 dog, 1 bitch, 14 weeks old, bred by myself, sire is Castro ,http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/278136-sons-and-daughter-of-nan/ dam is a very good wee fox bitch ( lakeland/bedlington cross) dam pups dog bitch nice strong typey pups with good heads, as good a chance as any of being half decent, fully jabbed, wormed and reared on the best barf diet £100 each or will do the pair £180 pm if interested, i'm in Belfast.
  22. smart looking pup mate, hope he does you proud. are you calling him Lucky ?
  23. i haven't bothered with the second jab in over a decade and never had a dog go down with anything and i'm in the city, though i don't exercise in parks and they have minimal contact with other dogs, i would get the pup out myself.
  24. i do my recall whistle, every time a pup is experiencing pleasure, when you're petting it , feeding it, anytime your having a bit of craic with the dog do your recall whistle, you'll have it charging in in no time.
