  1. personally i call this pup a Fell
  2. but you can't use the fact that their Bedlingtons as an excuse for them Topper, its either in them or its not. i think there's enough other blood in our stuff for them just to be treated the same as any other terrier. my two 7 months and 19 months, having a rag.
  3. in all honesty mate, i would go for another breed,Lakeland perhaps, your would be narrowing your chances of getting disappointed.
  4. can't say i would agree with that mate, found most on there to be very decent ,especially the few that are putting dogs in the ground .i wasn't asked for a penny for my last pup, so you can't say fairer than that.bedlingtons doing earthwork are few and far between, so be prepared for a long wait for any litters out of them. i would have thought a bushing dog would be easier to find, though for me a terriers are for earthwork , don't really get the bushing with terriers lark, a small lurcher would do the job better.
  5. aye Gary i know mate, under normal circumstances i wouldn't have even considered it but she had a bad compound fracture to a front leg last day of last season, had to have a plate put in and cannot be worked again until she has it removed ,hopefully she'll make a full recovery but you never know, so with her being out of action and with myself and ferreting partner needing another dog each it seemed as good a time as any, we've both been really impressed with her. hows your own one doing ? i've yet to hear a bad word about any of them.
  6. couple of snaps of the dog pup i kept back for myself, sire whippet http://thewhippetarc...4397&sire=44726 dam straight bedlington x greyhound, bred with ferreting and daytime mooching in mind, he's smooth looking in the pics but is actually rough coated, both parents are 21" ats, this fella might go bigger, he's already 15" at 10 weeks. dam shaping up well after the litter
  7. personally i don't really see what the debate is here, i don't get this you inherit more from the dam or the sire lark, you get 50% from each, obviously every litter is different and you don't conveniently get 25% from each grandparent, that would make things too easy.
  8. have bred them both ways and there wasn't a button of difference.
  9. aye Mike she's got that sort of length to her
  10. cheers lads .aye Topper Paddy does a little bit more each week mate and thankfully he's knocked that auld fighting lark on the head, easy to forget he's only a youngster.
  11. i add a touch of vinegar to the salted water for the overnight soak.
  12. try changing their bedding, had one that soiled straw but was clean when changed to shredded paper.
  13. now what a great forum this would be if everyone took that on board. glad to hear pups doing well . look forward to seeing more pics when they're up a bit mate.
  14. i keep my ferret court in the dog run, so there use to seeing/ smelling them daily , never had a problem with a terrier or lurcher reared this way.
  15. just bred a litter that way for daytime work but they should be decent all rounders dam out of the above two http://thewhippetarc...4397&sire=44726 sire just waiting on the rough/broken coated ones to show themselves, so we can decide whats staying.

  17. you touching them will have nothing to do it mate, she'll need more than one feed though.
