  3. i've a young fell type here with a smashing coat, at the other end of the scale, the patterdale pup has fine, whippet type coat, no protection from the elements at all.
  4. you can bangle your full english, it just can't live with an Ulster Fry.

  5. i agree with you Mudd, not much to be added to this thread after your first post.
  6. get yourself a mars stripping comb mate, no blades, just teeth which pull out dead hair, easier, quicker, produces a better coat than using clippers and at a fraction of the cost of buying a set of oster clippers, which you would need if your gonna go down that road.
  7. had a good day out yesterday with the 4 month old youngsters from my recent litter( Mike brown whippet x bedlington/ greyhound) , they done well for their first time out, with a minimum of net wrecking, learning manners with the ferrets, holding rabbits with their mother and a mark or two throw in for good measure, all in all a real enjoyable day with a dozen in the bag.

  14. i've had a 3l hilux surf for about 4 years now, goes anywhere and never given me any bother, greedy f**ker but running it on heating oil softens the blow.

  16. strong looking pup mucker, best of luck with him.
  17. yes mate thats him with his mother, everyone seems happy with them, good strong pups.
  18. i had a show bred whippet, 191/2 ats 26 pound, that took foxes single handed, always had them in a throat hold by the time I got there, only time he was bitten was when another dog was present and stopped him getting his usual hold, most modern working whippets are bigger and heavier now days, 30 pound plus and should be well able of taking the occasional fox.i don't think a whippet taking a fox is that usual.
  19. i've a real soft spot for whippets, worked them mainly at rabbits but the right sort will take the odd hare and fox and don't have to be monsters for that either. i found they suffer when standing about while ferreting though, so changed to something with a bit more coat, which suited me better, added Mike brown stuff to the mix recently for a extra touch of early pace with ferreting in mind. young Slim, 1/2 whippet 1/4 greyhound 1/4 bedlington
