    If he has a full tail leave it alone mate and only time will tell if this will effect him later on as it depends what type of cover he is hunting, to be honest mine has a full tail and hunts alot of bramble and gorse and has had no trouble, but others can have a real bad time of it. Go back to basics with his training so you then know what training he has had and get as much into him as you can, if he is looking like he is loosing his head a bit make him sit and stay until he calms down. Get yourself a good gundog book or DVD on training and just work your way through it, he is at a good age

    You should have no trouble with a cocker mate, as they want to work for you unlike a terrier who is out for himself. I have both terrier and a cocker cross who has terrier in her she is far more user frendly and controlable than the terrier and she also dosent hunt to far away. They are a very versitile little dog, as mine ran in a mixed pack as a bushing dog and ratting dog for her first 14 months, then in March i started training her to the gun and she is coming on very well and is alot more controlable than i ever thought i would get her with her past experiance, in the short time i have

    Training 2 pups from the same litter can be difficult as there loyaltys are to each other and not to you, like others have said breaking this and creating your bond with each pup can be time consuiming and difficult. Dave.

    Thats the thing Geordie keeping them active, We do Vermin shooting every weekend out of season, so there season never stops really, but we do drop onto Pigeons now and again which gives them a bit of a break. Dave.

    Ive been breeding English Springers for 23 yrs, the two acros the middle of the photo look like theyre well bred, the dog at the back looks like a springer x setter and the bitch sitting at the front looks more like a sprocker than a springer i wouldnt be proud to own those 2, just my opinion P Smith You would have to look at many pics of the dogs, or even in the flesh before you could even start to come out with a statement like that. for someone who has been involved with a breed for that long it seems a very nieve response. (You get some right cocks on here at times) Dave.
