  2. this is the last of our litter of sprocker pups, he is 6 1/2 weeks old, he is listed in the "for sale section" but thought you might like to see him.

  4. i was wondering , are you planning to work sam? in my experience steddiness can really only be confirmed when the dog is out doing the job its been aimed at.

Great news everyone!! there is something out there specialy made for working dogs , it was origianaly made for sleigh dogs but is also marketed towards gun dogs it comes in bars of 400g size sectioned in to 8 squares, a max of 2 squares throughout the day is recommended, i cut the squares up into 4 or 6 peices and give the dogs a small piece each before each drive, it costs £3.95 a bar + £5.95 delivery, (i have got orders from people on the shoot and placed a large order to share cost of P&P) each bar has approx 6000cals, i have been using it for the last 2 seasons and it helps dogs to m
  6. thanks v-max, have been up the last couple of years around 3rd week of may with good results, just dont seem to see any of the more mature bucks, just though this year might try a different time of year and might be lucky enough to get a nice roe head to mount, i will ty the 3rd week of july, thanks again for the advice, will put a post up as to how i get on with some pics (if we get any!!!).
  7. i am off roe stalking (hopefully!!!) up around perth and can go in the summer (july, aug,sept time)can anyone give me a bit of guidence as to when might be a good time to go, i believe they rut around then (twice!!???!) can anyone suggest what month and week to go,as i dont want to go after the rut, any help would be much appreciated.

  11. only the black pups have chest blazes all the yellow ones are a solid colour, i have never seen yellow ones before, all the ones ive seen are like labs with a white blaze.
  12. im glad to hear they are good dogs as my sprocker bitch has just had a litter with my yellow lab dog, so i guess they are sprockerdors? they wernt planned but these things happen!! im going to keep the only yellow bitch, and am going to try to sell the others 2 yellow dogs and 2 black with white bib bitches, im looking forward to seeing what they look like ( they are only 3 days old at the moment) though they look like labs at the moment, when they are a bit older i will try and get some pics of them on.
  13. is it the jab for distemper & parvo? i have a bottle here as i just jabbed all our dogs, it says "canine distemper-adenovirus type2 parainfluenza-parvovirus vaccine on the bottle.
  14. hi, i usually use partridge in this but pheasant will be fine, this is my own recipie breast meat cut in to pieces (from 4 partridges) 1 large onion chopped 250g sliced mushrooms (approx) 2 teaspoons dried tarragon dry vermouth (martini) salt and pepper 2 chicken oxo 1 beef oxo water cream gravey granules ( to thicken at end) fry onions and musrooms together in a bit of oil put in casserole dish, then fry meat to seal and add that to dish, add salt pepper and tarragon, mix oxo with hot water and cover meat (make sure meat is covered throughout cooking add more water if needed)
