The Unintended Keeper ( Diary of a keeping blagger )
FLATTOP replied to Stavross's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
If you look at Sausage dogs content going back over the years one of the best contributors on here especially his musket shenanigans, a great loss to the site in my opinion. -
Yeh I think I know some of his previous usernames, I’ve been on since 2008 I used to post mainly in terriers and running dog threads I also used to follow and help out quite a well known Essex Hunt but then left for a good few years but returned under my same account, I come on here mainly for a laugh and banter now, but put the occasional shooting pic up but that’s about it bloody hell 14 years where did that go.

Where’s Ken’s Deputy when you need him eccentric yeh but my opinion that’s what this site is about individuals, his absence is a loss to the site.

More of a Sousaphone man myself I remember as a kid my uncle who is a long career Jazz musician used to play one of these in the garden he’s still touring in Europe well into his eighties ?

I know mate hence why I accuse them of hypocrisy, when you have people like Justin Welby running the show you know the jobs f****d.
-
?

The bit that gets me is the hypocrisy of the Church Of England encouraging gay marriage ect where the Bible states that I shall not bum my brother well words close to that ? I was always surprised how our late Great Queen bless her soul never stepped in and opposed this being the defender of the faith and the leader of the Church of England.

I wish undescribable pain and suffering on the lot of them they just keep sticking the knife in don't they @socks can’t you just do a mass cull instead of a scythe hire a combine harvester for the day and do a job lot I’m sure we can all chip in ?

I’ve had a similar situation with a Black Cat trap where it was a 100% rat then the same 100% mouse then i had one which looked like a mix between the two I reckoned juvenile rat the thing is most of the time their biggish and easily identified and your right that tail looks very ratty and so do the feet.
-
Rat I reckon ?

I see him once in a smallish venue at the peak of his Big Yin days he didn’t tell one joke all stories that were some how connected when he told the big slipper story I looked around and people were literally crying tears running down there faces with laughter bloke was so funny shame he’s not a well man now but he’s lived a life.

The good old Circus Tavern Chicken & Chips in a basket always a good night I see Freddie Star there a couple of times, strangely enough my sister in law married into his family it was weird visiting and seeing pics up on the wall didn’t last long though the bloke she married was a strange one and he soon got binned off ?

It is a totally different ball game mate if you don’t think ahead or dither in some situations you will come unstuck very quick and always remember your height because I hate lorry drivers who hit my lovely railway bridges ? to be fair though I hold all licenses including road railer, HGV was the toughest test, under pressure is the best way to describe with matey and his clipboard breathing down your neck ?

Spot on Wilf exactly where I used to get a pull I used to say to myself if I can get past Dagenham I’m home and dry back to my depot at Leigh on Sea until one day a police car pulled in front of me flashing follow me in the back of the motor, they then ran me into Purfleet and pulled me apart I would never go back to it, I was quite handy on the grab lorry and the amount of PJs which were thrown my way was unreal but nah not worth the hassle.
-
What Wilf was saying is VOSA will pull you up randomly when your driving when you have passed your test I used to drive HGVs for the railway picking up scrap rail ect nothing is light on the railway and they take you into their centres dip your tank stick you on the weigh bridge check you taco digi card etc, many a time it’s a sweat to see if you’ve gone over or not, I dug a big hole with a grab lorry once for a mate to put in a swimming pool that was an interesting load of wet earth the thing could hardly move when I tried to pull away ? god I’m glad them days are over. Good luck though

I think camouflage gear attracts more attention than just wearing good practical out door clothing I’ve got access to loads as my boy was ex forces but you feel a bit of a twat in it and as Dido says it’s the clothing of Walt’s walking up and down the high street on a Saturday afternoon, and no disrespect to fishermen but what’s with head to toe real tree sitting around a lake like the fish know or even care ?
