I’ve got a oil proof waterproof pair which were issued to my son when they had a major oil spill around the RAF Lyneham area, the only problem I’ve got with them is there’s no zip if your caught short very strong and dry, might be worth seeing what they have in a army surplus store if you don’t want to spend too much.

I get what your saying Wilf hence why I emphasised training and a degree of discipline is essential but definitely in a situation in the video it could be the difference between life and death. My experience of gun ownership has made me think twice before losing my rag or any unnecessary outbursts it gives me a sort of discipline and responsibility that I never used to have years ago.

Nice one Ken I had a feeling The Gambia might come up trumps I’ve visited twice and what I like about it is there’s a little bit of everything going on to see and do, and what a gent that Willem sounds. I took this picture while I was out there while having a walk in a forest armed with some monkey nuts the ones in a shell and this little fellah rocked up.

This is a couple of pics I took in Kandy Sri Lanka as you can see it was taken high up I was sitting in a bar above watching the elephants they were bellowing and trumpeting it was quite an experience, thought I’d share seeing as we are on the subject of water holes, the last pic you can see a piece of melon on the bottom left that’s me feeding the elephant it didn’t stop eating I had an endless supply of fresh fruit and it just kept on going lol I hope it remembers me they say they’ve good memories ? Just too add the 3rd pic that elephant used to belong to one of the leaders of the Tamil

Check out images for The Gambia River mainly birds, Hippos when you go right inland, lammin lodge is a good place for a boat trip through the mangroves. I visited a place you would have loved an open bar what I mean by that no roof and hairy frogs wandering around the place they looked like they had a hitler comb over ? Africas a good place to visit but you’ve gotta be prepared for the poverty and constant harassment to get a few quid off you it can be relentless.
