I’ve just got back from Cyprus and I entered a daily archery competition I came 3rd twice and won it twice, I won a close run on one contest by shooting an apple they was calling me Robin Hood lol I’ve found my calling in life I just used similar principles to shooting a gun. @philpot I hope your back gets better keep moving there’s nothing worse than a bad back. -
Talk to Greyman he’s pretty good at this kinda stuff.

I was out on the track with a gang of mainly younger lads and when we got back to the depot we were all huddled around a small radio listening to it unfold, very surreal a couple of the lads you could see were getting concerned that they might have to go to war as it seemed that America had been attacked by another super power. Strangely enough I was only aware it was 9/11 when I was mid flight to Cyprus I was going to mention it to my Mrs and the woman sitting next to me but it didn’t seem appropriate, I’m on holiday and it’s bloody boiling I’ve got burnt feet and a burnt back and haven’

FLATTOP replied to hawki's topic in General Talk
I was coming down Pen Y Fan a few years back and a woman behind me had no sticks and was in my opinion wearing wrong kit ( leggings ) she slipped forward if she had grabbed my shoulder she would probably been ok she didn’t, she ended up ripping her kneecap off down to the bone and me and my son arranged mountain rescue where she was then carried down and ended up having an operation in hospital, going forward I will use a stick/ sticks can only help. -

Crib Goch looks daunting I’ve watched a few YouTube videos most difficult route I believe. All these well known peaks seem inundated especially weekends. -
Gotta admit though mate you probably know as well as I do the pway was always full of characters like the Grebster I feel sorry for his fellow gang members I’m sure he’s on the pway now can you imagine the banter in the van waiting to get on track lol

Personally I think with the winter fuel allowance if you pay the higher rate of tax 40% forfeit it as you don’t really need it £300 isn’t going to make a jot of difference to these tax payers,to allow those on the lower threshold of tax to receive it seems fair to me but there too thick and stubborn to see this.

It’s an interesting topic, and I could really let rip but you don’t do you, you just get on with life the only person I’ve spoken about in detail is to my wife, forums are not the place to go into detail.

I must admit mate I envy my boy for the friendships he’s made in his military service they are all spot on lads and lasses and me and my wife consider a lot of them friends of the family because of the experiences and hardships they have spent together, I will never forget when we went to his passing out parade at RAF Halton and they said you are now part of the RAF family, you will definitely have friends for life due to your career.

I grew up on an estate in East London it was what it was, my mother remarried when I was relatively young and my stepfather didn’t like me or my brother in fact he was an absolute arsehole I don’t really talk about it to be honest. But I’ve done alright for myself because seeing what an absolute waste of air he was made me more determined to do well for me and my wife & kids.

Popped out again this evening and the weathers cooled right down, wasn’t many rabbits about but I managed two shots two kills, I caught a fox through my scope stalking a pheasant which there seemed to be plenty of, and not particularly good pictures but there was a load of what looked like Canadian Geese but could well be Siberian geese who pay a visit this time of year to feed on the eel grass in the Thames estuary.

Exactly no normal person in their right mind interviewing or offering a job would give a job to somebody like that it just causes division and isn’t a good look in my opinion, but they all seem to want to jump on the diversity and inclusion wagon don’t get me wrong disabled people ect should be included if they can fulfil a role, but blokes dressing up as women nah it’s not normal to me.

I went in Tescos the other day we only go about every 2 weeks big shop and out, any way got up to the till to be greeted what could only be described as a pantomime character serving me, red manicured nails over the top make up and the most ridiculous syrup ( Wig for the northern brethren) I have ever seen in his fifties craggy face and a bit of stubble really red lipstick, now a normal biological woman would not go over the top like that so why do these strange people have to do it, it’s Little Britain all over I’m a lady you know that one. He tried to engage talking to me and I made of
