    i built a farm shed near an earth house . i cant remember exactly where but it was in the borders i drove through gala i think and stayed in a little village pub that was called the horse and hound i think. and was near a bridge over a river. nice bit of country.

    got the its the dogs or me a few times early on. and there have been personality clashes over the years. between her indoors and one or two particular dogs. but she has turned it around over the years and now i couldnt do without her imput. the kids are good also. makes it easy for me to go to work. knowing they will all be walked and fed by the time i get in.

    we all tend to talk in inches when on about lurchers. which if fine for general information. but for topics that are trying to define the size you need to better discribe the dog. for instance when folk talk about whippets. i have a picture in my minds eye. of a small frail flying machine. yet folk put up pictures of a lurcher type big powerfull 22 inch things. the only thing they have in common with what i think is a whippet is a smooth coat. the dividing lines are blurred. i think you need to put a hight and weight up. to give a better idea. i have a whippet lurcher that is just 23 inch

    the best rabbiting dog ive had was 23 inch tts. the best ive seen was 24. ive had a couple of collie crosses thet where very good and they wasnt small at 27 tts. but as the thread is about small quarry. i think a lurcher not much either side of 23 inch is very hard to beat. as an all round rabbit dog. yis cs

    this is very typical of the below the belt crap that is the scourge of hunting in all its forms. ive seen it in the field at shows in clubs/pubs. its never far away. where ever you see more than one hunter there will be boasting back stabbing. and belittleing. and the girly hobby of doing dirty washing in public. it goes hand in hand with backstabbing and ghosting your best mates permision . has all the hall marks of a whitch hunt this. i dont know cp. but i hope you all have red faces. and feel as uncomfortable as i do reading this. what happens on tour stays on tour. thank feck i stick to

    if you want to clean up the site you need rules. then you need to enforce them. you need guidlines that are clear for all to see. that way its black or white. with no shades of grey. my thoughts are that some pics are ok. and some are not so where do you draw the line. of course sensible people dont need told . but they are not the ones that cause trouble

    the first thing to do is to teach him some manners. let him run loose and feck knows what he will nail. you need to make sure that he wont take hold of livestock. (this includes chickens :laugh: ) maybe a long lead would be a good start . and be carefull he dont run down holes. if he has no locator on. learn what holes to steer clear of once you have some control over him then get him at some rats. good luck

    i would support any move to improve this site. posting pics of dogs on foxes proves feck all. and i know it is legal in some places and some pics may be fair. but where do you draw the line? and a line has to be drawn.
