  1. Until the day I die, I will never understand the "I tested my dog" until it died mentality. As to find a dogs limits it has to die, only them will you know its limits. It's all bull $hit thought up by people to make themselves look good. TC
  2. Which part in particular? RCT covers three valleys. TC
  3. We have just finished a batch of potatoes in work that were fertilised with pig manure. The only way I could fault the potatoes is that the manure burnt the skins. They had burning patches on the skin that looked like common scab. But, I would think that the manure was fresh as he uses it every year to fertilise his potatoes. Older stuff should be fine. TC
  4. I started off with a 10 x 8 shed of my own, that did not last long. You have my sympathies TC
  5. True without a doubt, I just know what I prefer having tried both. In fact I still have the only slip lead I bought back in 1977. I used it for about 6 months on my first lurcher and it has been hanging around since then. What a waste of £3. TC
  6. A few facts about training a dog to work off the lead. It takes time, and there will be accidents along the way. Over the years I have found it better to ignore the accidents and concentrate on the positives. I would not try and presume to try and tell you how to train your dogs, other than to say dogs pick up things quicker than you think. If you have never worked a dog off a slip before, you would not believe how much more pleasurable it is, no faffing around at gates or fences, both hands free, plus the added bonus that the dogs get to learn that when they are on the lead everything is
  7. So does your dog see further than you? Perhaps you should swap roles? TC
  8. i agree what your saying if your lamping hilly fields.but if your lamping open flat land I'd say dog sees whats at end of lamp There is very little actual flat land anywhere, most is either concaved or convexed if it is concaved then the dog can spot just as well as you. However if it is convexed the dog can only see as far as his horizon exactly the same as you, only his horizon is limited because of the dogs height TC
  9. Just wondering how many have actually got down to a dogs eye level to see what they actually see? Not assuming that because they are between five and six feet up that the dog sees what they do? TC
  10. There does seem to be some on this thread that think a dog can see the same in the beam as the person with the lamp. Unless you are right up on them, I would say 90% of the time the dog sees grass. TC
  11. I think it's the one on the wall Ants not the racer on the floor? Although I may be wrong? TC
  12. Nope, The wife found out I did have some room in there, and it has been filled with stuff that should have been thrown away. So I have just given up for the moment. TC
  13. Mine. I really will have to sort it out when I have a month spare. TC
  14. You boys are just amateurs when it come to untidy workshops, even you Ant. Will get a couple of pics of mine up. TC
  15. Lets make this a little bit more interesting..........i am sporting equipment...............................what am i ? A little bit flighty. TC
  16. Genuine question, why do slip leads lead to accidents ? By the very nature of the lead, it is meant to let a dog loose with minimum fuss. One dog is coursing a rabbit and the rabbit runs back towards you, the one on the slip naturally wants to get in on the action and starts bouncing around it is then that slip leads can fail and lets the dog loose. If you have a full lead on the dog it is less likely to happen. TC
  17. As Others have said, when on your own off lead. When in company on a full lead till it's their turn to run, no slip leads just a full lead or off lead. Slip leads lead to accidents. (pun intended) TC
  18. I fecking hate saying this. But!!!! Nice pup mister. Good bone and lovely confirmation. TC

Just my way of seeing it. Is not evolution a consequence of time and change? TC
  20. You are quite correct. Fishing rights do not automatically come with the ownership of the land. I was stating in general. But as a valuable commodity fishing rights are usually sold separately to the land when they do become available. However, when a piece of land with fishing rights on a good river does come up for sale, or indeed just the fishing rights themselves there is usually a free for all at the auction. Footpaths do not come into the equation, they just give people the right to walk along that particular piece of land, nothing more, nothing less. TC
  21. Of course this could just be subterfuge & propaganda, just some little tit bit to keep people happy, and make the enemy think that they are vulnerable. That said it is totally feasible and perhaps that is why it was leaked? That said, if it was ongoing would they have published it? TC
  22. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2845668/SAS-quad-bike-squads-kill-8-jihadis-day-allies-prepare-wipe-map-Daring-raids-UK-Special-Forces-leave-200-enemy-dead-just-four-weeks.html TC
  23. Who ever owns the land on the banks of a river also own the fishing rights. Sometime they keep them for themselves, and sometimes they let them out to angling clubs. TC
