While I applaud what happened to the scumbag. It does make me wonder if this will escalate the violence scum like him are willing to use to commit their crimes? Or will they be more particular in the future and just pick on more vulnerable people? Cos as sure as eggs is eggs they will not stop being scum. TC

You lot are seriously delusional if you think that any politician cares about this country. It is just a means to an end with them. Their end is accumulating as much wealth as possible. We, are the means with which they achieve their end. You are all blaming every ill that this country has on politicians, when it is more than the politicians. It is the human nature that is at fault, because at the heart of every human there lies one fault. Greed. It is in every person it does not matter if it is for money, food any commodity people are never satisfied they always want more, and are willing

The source of the time they had lived there stated "A neighbour described the mother of the boy as "quiet". Victoria Thomson said: "She moved there a wee while ago, maybe last year. They haven't been there long." The quote came from this report. http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/scotland-boys-heart-removed-horrific-ritual-killing-1478347 TC

Pal your a liar and a stupid one at that. The date on the post mark clearly states that it was posted on Friday the 5th you received it on Monday the 8th as the date mark on your post states. I like a long weekend but stretching three days in to five is a bit much. TC

As you say there are hedges, then there are proper hedges. TC

Live Trapping Squirrels
Tiercel replied to Coursing mad 24's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
I am not so sure about that, when in a trap they are agitated and very mobile. Once in a sack they are restricted and less mobile. So which one is the easiest to kill? The agitated mobile one or the subdued restricted one? TC -
Live Trapping Squirrels

Very true. But who gets it right first time every time? The only person I can think of is a liar. TC -
In that photo was another problem I failed to mention the actual weight of the net pulling the head line down. Mine was made as a traditional net so it was not so bad as I could adjust the tension on the lines as I went. Something you cannot do with a quick set. TC

Wanting A Rat Removed Bedale/leyburn

With 156 posts in 8 years, do you really think you are qualified to asses THL members? TC -
Terry, try some carrots kept in sand. Dry the sand off in the summer box it and put it in the shed then just lay the carrots not touching in a layer of sand and cover and repeat till the box is full. More taste when you take them out than frozen carrots. The same can be done with beetroot and parsnip. TC

I made a trial 50 yard net rigged by a third. 150 yards of net in 50 yards. I used it once ferreting, and to be fair it caught every rabbit that entered it,none of this bouncing around straight in and so much mesh they could not move. But when I came to pick it up bloody hell were my arms aching. The net only weighed perhaps 600g heavier than a normal 50 yarder but it felt a lot more by the time I had picked it up. Added to the weight it was set on rape stubble and holding the net while you try and get the roots out was murder as the net took a lot longer to pick up. TC

Thats just the Irish in Matt coming out... To be sure, to be sure. TC -
I use nets rigged by a third on most of my stop nets. That means in 5 yard stop nets there are 15 yards of stretched netting, hence rigged by a third of the stretched length of the netting. They do work well, hardly ever a bounce off. Mine do look odd though made up with different pieces of netting stitched together. TC

Danish oil mostly, but have done some in varnish by request. I don't make many, a couple a year if that. Crude and functional I like to call them. TC

Those will be gone by February, I have made some myself but they are not that good. Thumb stick Leg cleek in oak for my son who is a big boy all 6ft 4 of him. Leg cleek in sapele for his wife. A market stick in sapele for my grandson. I just make them for family and friends. I have a herons head waiting to be shanked and will get around to doing it eventually. I made a stick a few years ago with a specific purpose in mind see if you can guess the purpose? TC

There is no right or wrong way, it really depends on your disposition. I prefer going out alone, so consequently catch less rabbits as I cannot work the same amount of net that two can. But as most of the long netters on here will tell you It is not all about catching rabbits. TC

Got a few yet to be straightened. TC

Sounds to me as if he did not want to pay the postage. Postage is a pain in the rear, I stopped selling on ebay because the price is just getting out of control. But if you want the stuff, no matter what it costs you have to pay the postage cost. The sooner people understand that the better. As Agouti only uses courier, there is no such thing as first class, he was using Hermes which is a 2 to 4 day service. who he is using now I could not say. TC
-
If that is the cost of postage, why should you moan about it. I will let you into a secret, when he pays £5.20 to post your parcel he hands it to the courier, it is up to them to do their job he has no control over them. Also it is coming up to Christmas and the volume of parcels is treble what it normally is. So tell us how is he taking the piss? TC
