  3. I have a vasectomised hob available here if anyone wants to use him please message me. i'm on the North notts/ south yorkshire border
  4. Totally agree with you mate, although you do have to be careful which lines you get. For example,I wouldn't work a non ped racing whippet as they are far too fast and brittle they weigh approx 20% less than the same sized kc whippet. Afterall a average paced dog with a little between the ears will always catch more than a pocket rocket thats as thick as they come. Vixen my ped whippet rarely gets into top gear when out lamping she uses her head only running as fast as she needs to to keep up with the rabbits timing her strike and she rarely has to strike twice.
  5. I was just about to say the above, a friend had one a few years ago. It was a first x whippet greyhound and everytime he took her out she smashed herself up. She never learned and imo was totally brain dead, she must have got tunnel vision when chasing only seeing the thing she was chasing and not the obsticles in her way, unfortunatley this was her downfall she hit a tree one night killing her instantly.
  6. I used to keep british finches and canaries and the best seed i found was witte molen british finch mix, haiths also do a good british finch mix. You can also give them dandelion seeds (just remove the fluff by twisting it leaving the seeds still on the stalk.
  7. I've four dogs, 3 whippets and a labrador all come into contact with alsorts of things. My vet charges £17 for a booster which i believe is a small price to pay. Afterall it works out at £1.31 per week!! thats not even a half a pint in my local.

    Lamb

I feed Lamb all the time to the dogs, as Tomo says it has all what dogs need to keep in good condition. Don't feed it though it you leave the dogs in kennels all week as they will put wieght on if you don't give them some graft.
  18. I'll have a 14amp Ian if the price is right, I've got a 10amp and i'm well pleased with it, It's never let me down and i'm out 3+ hours a night. However i'm not walking around like flamborough lighthouse the lamps only on when it needs to be Running 2 dogs this year and it will be nice to have a backup

  20. I wouldn't let anyone else treat my dogs other than Paul Evans. He's a top vet. I would recommend him to anyone with running dogs.
  21. what you can tell from its first ever slip I think what the bloke means is a dog should be more than capable of catching on it's very first slip if prepared and entered at the right time. I recently took Mojito the pup i got off you out for her first nights lamping, a friend was visiting from kuwait to see the pups and i decided to take him out lamping for an hour. I knew she was ready for a run or two. She caught on her first run and retrieved it live to hand, and i mean retrieved over 70 yards. when i got back i skinned the rabbit to see if there was any damage and there was hardly a
  22. Hibi scrub is great but don't use it too often, once a day would be fine and make sure it's diluted 1-10 10ml per 100ml water (i use boiled water thats cooled). As already mentioned saline water is often all thats needed and underrated. I've used just salt water on punture wounds and they never become infected. I use a teaspoon of salt per pint of cooled boiled water. The secret with any wound is make sure it's kept clean and keep an eye out for any moisture coming from the wound. Betadine spray dries wounds really well and promotes healing, you may beable to get it from a chemist,i get mine o
  23. i know what your saying and sure it happens, but it aint the end of the world,i dont show dogs but its part of the fun seeing how serious some folk take the shows, we always went for the glad i dont go these days. It's a shame for all the folk who have travelled and paid to get into the event, surely they deserve a fair crack of the whip. I've seen the judging at the lurcherworld events myself on a few occasions. The last show i attended ( didn't take the dogs) i was telling the mrs which person (not dog!!!) was going to win...
