  1. I totally agree Thomas, bigger doesn't always mean better. As you know i prefer a whippet with good bone, one that can take a knock or two in the field and just shake it off. I wouldn't want a whippet at 22-23" though as i believe you lose the early pace, just what whippets are known for.. It's a real shame that some folk seem to be favouring and breeding 22"+ whippets, some of which don't actually look like whippets. Some have apple heads and usually strong heads. There are a few of us that do try and breed to the standard, Elgadane, pennymeadow, and highisland to name a few. I was
  2. I've got a four month old pup and it's eating 11/2 lb of raw minced lamb and tripe as well as 5oz of chudleys greyhound racer.Thats 3 x more than your giving yours mate. It's eating more than my adult whippet. I always feed pups 4-5 times a day and as much as they will eat.

  4. From the photo's i've seen of Kreets whippets mate, they look a nice type and in good condition, and from what you say he's been more than fair with you and your brother. Hats off to him for doing that and for breeding his whippets to the standard.
  5. I have an enclosed box in my dog shed measuring 3'6" x 3' x 2'6"high i have a 3' tube heater on the back wired up to a room thermostat set at 15c. The top of the box is insulated and it works a treat. I don't like heat lamps as they can indeed be a fire risk. The only time i use a heat lamp is when i have pups.
  6. Yes but are they really whippets? or has other blood been added along the way???. The large whippets don't have the topline a whippet should have.. I prefer a whippet that actually looks like a whippet not a grew, the one i'm running at the minute is 20" and 30lb she does all i ask of her and more.. AS for KREET wasn't he the bloke who was getting dogs from the dog pound and selling them on here?
  7. Thanks for your kind comments. I really enjoy taking photo's of working dogs as i have working dogs myself and i'd like to think it shows in my photography. The dog in the photo's isn't actually Kc registered, however he is pedigree and is a nice stamp of a dog...
  8. One like this one Mate?? I bought mine from the calendar auction on here. I think mine came from black dog trading originally. I only put collars on my dogs if i'm going to a show etc, i never run them with collars on. So i can't honestly tell you how long they will last as i've only used mine a couple of times..
  9. I had a photo shoot today of a labrador 'Mac' i thought i'd share the pics with you all. Please click on the link yo view them http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/MallyfieldPhotography/MacInTheSnow#
  10. Yes mate thats fine. I have recently deleted a few photo's off the site, just to tidy things up a bit and to cut down on the bandwidth i'm using.I have paypal, just send me a pm when your ready to order mate. If i remember right we took over 3000 photo's at the EDRD with 5 photographers working in the morning(racing and coursing) and 2 of us working in the afternoon on the dog show. I deleted a couple of albums yesterday i just hope the ones of your dog are still on as it would take me ages to get them back lol.
  11. She's a belter mate and it's as though she's been here much longer than a week. She's clean in the house and she's eating me out of house and home lol. I had her microchipped today too mate... Don't worry she's going nowhere now, i've got her sitting and staying upto 25 yards away and she's retrieving well too. I'll bring her with me when i come with gary later in the month
  12. I wouldn't feed anyone elses meat mate, it's the best available in the uk by far and not too expensive too. An old bloke once told me you only get out of a dog what you put into one. He was spot on. Within 2 weeks of feeding meat from Tpms i noticed a difference in there condition, i've been feeding it for nearly 3 years now. Give me a bell mate when the weather picks up and we'll sort a day out
  13. Thanks mate, i am proud of them although Vixen my fawn whippet is carrying a little weight due to a recent injury and not doing much due to the weather conditions. My lab is on top of her game though, we were out beating all day on tuesday and were out again on saturday picking up on the shoot..
  14. The last few, i hope you enjoy looking at them as much as i did taking them. I gave the dogs a drink of warm tea when we got home
  15. I took the camera along on the usual evening walk again today. Thought i'd post a few again..
  16. Nice one mate, Have the pigeons got much weight on them?. My mate dropped me a few off yesterday for the ferrets and they were really thin
  17. Very nice shot mate, i'd be delighted with a shot like that. I managed to get this one on boxing day..
  18. I don't know about whippet sized greyhounds, but greyhound sized whippets are already here mate, 23"-24" dogs are not uncommon and it's bad for the breed IMO.
  19. She's mainly Nimrodel and avismar lines with a little sooty sam, lord of the night
  20. It's no lurcher mate, i don't keep lurchers
  21. I took the dogs out for there usual afternoon walk and took the camera along for a change. Fern.. Vixen Mojito my new addition
  22. Well i've just got back after 400 miles and 71/2 hours driving and it was well worth it. The pup is a real belter and i mean a belter. Many thanks for keeping her the extra couple of weeks mate. Really appreciate that...
  23. Fair play, but i think you will find it's illegal to shoot pheasants on a sunday
  24. Grab your coat Tom i think you've pulled lol. Only joking mate, i didn't think you needed an excuse to get pis**d mate. Are you coming down again in January for another day at Doncaster races?? Tickets are already sorted mate, a days ferreting under there open ditches sorted those Give me a ring after crimbo and we'll sort things out mate.
