  5. brilliant wee spade this these are alright, if the ground is soft, and you dont have to dig to deep, if the ground is hard and stoney or chalky, then this kind of spade is useless, their blade is to light and flimsy, i used one the other week and the blade just bent because the ground was to much for it, and the depth i had to go down was 4ft, so we had a long wait for ferret to come out.......just my opinion, all the best, jay.
  6. gutted mate would of been good, sandy burrows no brambles either ; ) Everyone seems to be busy I mean everyone good of you to offer a days ferreting to people, especially if there's plenty of rabbits about your way, i'm surprised no one has snapped your hand off yet.....because there are always posts on here of people looking to tag along for a bit of ferreting...... good luck in finding someone, all the best, jay.

  9. thats not a bad nights lamping at all mate.......especially if it was local to where you live, i have travelled miles for a nights lamping and caught alot less...... all the best, jay.
  10. not a bad watch......and well worth a look, but part 2 and 3 are no different to part 1, so once you seen part 1 you seen them all.......just my opinion, all the best, jay.
  11. cracking job, looks a nice piece of ground.......and i would'nt mind a partner that slipped away when out for a days ferreting and brought back some bacon sandwiches , lol, all the best, jay.
  12. nothing worst than your lamp packing in on a night out, especially if you've travelled a fair way....... with regards to these lightforce lamps playing up and the wiring being shoddy,i must be lucky......,because i've had my lightforce striker about 2 or 3 seasons now,and i havent had a problem with it yet.........and i use mine alot....i've probably jinksed myself now saying that... you would have thought that when they manufacture these lamps that they would have sorted problem out by now, because there have been enough complaints about them....,and they're not exactly a cheap lamp for wh
  13. nice one jai, good to get out, he seems a keen enough lad........i bet it was a shock to the system though when he took a little nip of old buggsy........ shame there was'nt alot about on that new peace of ground, but i guess thats the way it goes...,and good permission is hard to come by, from my past experiences the landowners that gladly welcome you with open arms, generally have very little game on their land, and know that once you've been around once, and seen that there is nothing there,or very little if anything....... there is very little chance you will return......anyway its good to g

  18. there's a couple of places you can get net makeing kits.......2 that spring to mind are... bridport nets, and k,p+s nets, i bought one of these years ago when i learned how to make them, all the best, cheers, jay.
  19. why dont you get down to an army surplus shop ? and get a cammo jacket from there, or go online and find army surplus store's on there, you might even be able to get one on ebay.... all the best, jay.
  20. I find ferrets gain more natural instinct after about a year old. Always much better in the second season. as above.... exactly what bunny boiler has said, i always find this to be the case, and they seem to get their head on to the job in their second season, and start to work better. all the best, jay.
  21. Nor me anyway , gays use .22 ........... and i was just going to say, there is rarely any bad mouthing or slagging in these type of threads.........lol, all the best, jay.
  22. i would go with a .177 every time now, years ago i was strictly .22, but eventually got persuaded that a .177 was the calibre needed, and more than capable to do the job in hand, and would take anything that i wanted to shoot provided that the shot placement was on the button......... all the best, jay.
  23. cracking bit of shooting J.D, cant beat a bit of squirrel bashing.......and the .177 is more than capable, thats the only calibre i use for everything, all the best, jay.
