    I have had the Astro 320 and now the Alpha 100....both good bits of kit but the alpha a lot better ,can do a lot more ,E.G the ping time from collar to sat to you is a lot quicker ?(2.5 Sec Alpha ,5sec Astro) ,hence lot more accurate when you need it fast lol.........

    Yes they can be used on a terrier that hunts away ,they will tell you they are in ground but wont be as good as a terrier loc to dig on to , as they wont be as accurate as i think your talking with getting within 20ft with them Thanks for that.     how far from beach you live? start off on beach and in sea little walks and bit further every time few days ,then maybe on grass with little bit on road and built up etc etc

    you can lock the screen on any page you want ,i just keep on compass page and lock screen on that ,so if i need just rough idea where they are i can quickly look anything else just unlock it ,press the on/off bottom once(don't hold in as it will turn off Alpha) and a padlock comes up on screen ,press to lock and reverse to unlock
