  1. It's the be all when you live slap bang in the middle of the fens though lol! Hares are on the list weather you want to or not..
  2. I've just seen all your other topics from tonight. ..... Probally best leave it there
  3. You obviously know nothing about coursing if you asking, what does a saluki add that collie dosnt. There is no comparison when it comes to hare killing.
  4. Don't you just love predictive text!!! For the record I meant black labs!! Lol
  5. But people would pay that for crap pups. Eventually only decent butchs would get bred from. It would take a while to weed out the chaff but after a while it come good. Anyway, it's all hyperfetical bollox...
  6. Get one from a rescue place. All I'm saying is, if you ever go to a dog compound, half the dogs are lurchers. I would say there are more working black lads and spaniels in the country than there are lurchers, but you don't see that many getting passed from piller to post. If they were all about £250 /300 if would mean less shit would get bred and only the genuine owners would own them.
  7. The dearer the better. That way less chavs would own one, and there would be less in the compounds. You don't see that many black labs in death row.
  8. If you decide not to breed, I've a snipped hob you can use mate.
  9. 2 mins of exersize is of no use what's so ever. I use the rowing machine and do 2000 m in about 6 or 7 mins. That's a good all over body warm up which should get you sweating and ready for a work out. If your only going to do rowing as a work out, then you want to be aiming for about 30 mins at a time, but at a slower pace than what I do it at.
  10. Seen plenty of camicarzi hares when there mating. I think they must get inquisitive. I even see a dog running a hare, and another hare trotting after the dog! To be fair though mate you carnt tell a milky doe or a hare in kit from a mobile phone picture.
  11. This summer I'll mainly be getting pissed! Lol.
  12. My butcher probaly gives me enough for 2 or 3 days feeding 2 dogs. The rest of the week I feed rabbits and hares in the season. Out of season when I don't have any hares and less rabbits I fill in the gaps with a complete dry food. When the new butcher opened up near me I popped straight round, bought some meat and dropped in the question about dog scrappes. Now 18 months on he has over a dozen customers taking dog scraps. Even the local vicker has a bag full!
  13. My young dog had a black stripe running the full length of his back and down his tail. When he got to about 5/6 months old it had competly gone and his coat turned into a nice chestnut red.
  14. How will it be carried out?? Shot, trapped, gassed??
  15. I use the striker and I find it more than good enough. I've never seen the 240 but I carnt see why you would need a lamp that big.
  16. Yea I'm in a lurcher club. Otherwise I would be a billy no mates!!
  17. Why buy a pup when you will have a load in 3 weeks??
  18. I start about 10/12 months running them besides the motor. Only a mile or so twice a week. I like to get them used to the motor and avoiding the wheels etc. when there about 14/15 months then I step it up to about 5 or 6 miles nice and steady. When there about 2 they will do 10 miles no probs. I only do this once or twice a week though as the weight falls of them. If I've coursed them 3 times in the week then I'll miss the road work out. By the the way, I'm talking about saluki Xs here. My old 3/4 grey couldn't run any where near them distances.
  19. I shouldn't worry to much about the choke, as the reason you wound want it shortened I assume to use around a dig. Well that's what I use a shortened 4 10 for. 24" is the minimum barrel length
  20. I put up a similar topic recently. I was accused of shooting over someone else's land, even though I didn't have a gun!! My fao visited me and it all goes in the file, weather is bull shit or not I'm afraid.
  21. My comment was ment as a compliment skycat. And the point I was getting at is there are different books for different topics. If you want to read about hunting wild boar, then you wouldn't buy chalk warrens book about rabbit hunting.
