  1. All hare shooting is done in the day with shotguns and a beating team with dogs. Lamping is for rabbits and foxes.
  2. As I said, I'm not worried, just curious. As I do a fare bit of hare shooting, the police get called offen and details are exchanged regular. But I've never had the fao visit me before?
  3. Im not worried but it's hard to prove you was or wasn't hare coursing 4 months later. As I said, I asked is this common?
  4. Just wondering if this is routine and if any one else has had this happen? I've just received a phone call from my fao saying he has to come see me regarding a hare coursing/lamping complaint. The day in question, or night was last November when the police arrived at the field I was shooting following a phone call from a member of the public, after seeing a lamp shining. The police took ours names and asked that in future we call the police first. That was it until today. They never looked at the guns, asked what we was shooting or looked in the van to see we had no dogs.
  5. Vee dub.... Is that real?? That's made me feel sick
  6. It's a bit of a fine line between taking the old dog out for the ride with you, and wanting to spend one on one time with the young dog. I nearly always take my old dog lamping and running with me when I take me young dog as he dosnt really get in the way, but sometimes I feel like I need to leave him at home so I can have one on one time with the pup. Then you feel bad for leaving him.
  7. Ouch!! That tazer was like flicking a switch!
  8. What's the dog like on other quarry, if he was to work pre ban.? Genuine question. Cheers
  9. Nice one. Something different! Where abouts did you get them? Is it Scotland, or do you get them in England to??
  10. I don't know about the foley but in the club I used to run with, most of the top dogs were young uns. They had speed in abundance and seemed to run for ever. Though you could tell the older ones ran a bit wiser and sometimes speed alone wouldnt catch the hares, especially round cover.
  11. I still work my 9 year old but he carnt keep up with the young guns. Out of interest, how old have the forley cup winners and runners up been. I would guess most havnt reached there 4th birthday.
  12. In an ideal world, but fast coursing types don't bounce very well and a few hard seasons can age them a bit.
  13. I would say about 2 physically but not mentally. Some dogs if lamped hard are f****d by 5.
  14. You need to wire the batteries in parallel, not series. All it will have done is blow the bulb. Get a new bulb and wire the battery in parallel.
  15. Probally because it had naff all to do with hunting lurchers!
  16. Some for sale in the "sale section", beagal x sprocker.
  17. Carnt see why anyone would want an old or broken dog for one litter of pups...... Unless its a puppy farm lol
  18. For those who say a lurcher, then you've either got some exceptional lurchers or you havnt seen a good dog work. My lurchers will work cover but nothing like my mates lab, which works like a spaniel. Nothing is left un checked and is relentless. It finds stuff my lurchers don't all the time.
  19. Mine did it the other week, and to make matters worst, the old lady with the dog gave him a treat and made a fuss..... No way was he coming back then!
  20. Bloody.... Wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it?
  21. Ossie, is it Weston power who took over eon? If so my brother works for them.
  22. On the flip side.... Who's gonna stop him doing it??
  23. Do you know what happened to Mma live on espn.? That was great for finding out who's fighting who, and other news like injuries, drugs use etc
