  1. No way man! I would NEVER see any of mine in a pet home! I would much prefer mine to go free, to working homes, then i can feel happy they are going to lead a happy, purposefull existence!
  2. Sorry for jumping in a bit off topic, but some people need telling. Thats the whole point of bull crosses- to make an easy job of the things that other crosses fanny on with! Meaning a much more humane end for the vermin in question.
  3. Spider pig is right in defending the comment about 10 second kill, ive seen plenty myself which are dead on impact! meaning stone dead within a second or two. Those were the days
  4. How did he eat ? , tender ? I recomend a good week hanging in a chiller or cool larder for a young'un, and probably more like two weeks for an older one. Any that are perhaps 50+ are only any good for dog food!
  5. Small bitch pup, she is a cracker, deffinately the boss! Will make small compact bitch.
  6. Hello, been mega busy recently, sorry i havent responded to the replies Both parents are well tested digging dogs, owned by myself. Dam- small, black, bayer, worked two hard seasons. Bred by Marc little of croglin moor(head keeper) Dams dam- a very hard patterdale, rough coat, excellent worker. Dams sire- owned by John Little(marcs brother) terrierman for the North tyne hunt) Rough coated russel, was his best dog, never failed, died to ground in tight tube with fox. More info on dams breeding can be obtained from Countess(THL) (Johns wife) Sire- strong black, hard patterdale type, kills
  7. Seen them doing the same with meat several times myself! Rabbit carcasses etc.. Sure someone more knowledgable than me will expand, but i think they take it back to the nest for the grubs to eat. Good photo by the way!
  8. I dont think scothunter added his on, so thats 167................................i think
  9. Woodga, just noticed the fenn traps at the back corner, just wanted to ask if you have coated them in something, and if so, what?? Just curious, as i havent ever painted anything on them before, and wondered if its worth doing Cheers DnN
  10. I used a mk 1 deben for ten years, only let me down a few times, luckily it wasnt a disaster on either occaisions. 2 Years ago I bought a mk 3, and to be fair, it does work ok as long as its dry! I dont like the collar its too weak. Im definately saving for a b+f, my friends all have them, ive used them myself plenty, and I personaly think they are worth getting. Dont know shit about the other makes, but im also interested to hear about how they have faired with terrier work. All the best DnN
  11. Well done jaws, looks like you made a real good job there
  12. Mine had 12. Two or three still to home, albino only. Northumberland Edited to say ready in three/four weeks 61 total
  13. Got a couple of pups here, ready to go to good earthworking homes only. I would prefer them to stay in north east, and new owners to keep in touch. Well bred, from well tested parents. reared on meat. Ready to go. Ring for details 07717766542
  14. We should have gone with you from thew very start John, your products are fairly priced for the quality that goes into them. Have learnt a good lesson from this though! It certainly pays to do your shopping around first, to make sure you are working with legitimate people for a start, and then to ensure the product or service is going to be what they say it is! Thanks all From me and my cousin Bags!
  15. Exactly, even if the answer was no, he should have been honest. Also, he posts on here a lot, and has his business details in bold red print on his signature.
  16. This country is fecked! Thats why im a hill billy! Dont see many immigrants up here! But the governments fcuk-ups are a pain in arse of everyday life.
  17. I hunt with that type of cross. Mine are patterdale/cocker. They are great mate, you wont go wrong there. Easy to train to for your own needs aswell. The smaller ones may try to get to ground, but its best to move them on when using terriers to ground, so they dont get to keen on it. They will obviously hunt all day, will follow a line better than a straight spaniel, and if beagle in the mix will hunt better still, and give tounge. Also working basset works well in the mix. Good luck with it, keep us posted on its progress! DnN
  18. Hello Dan, Bring your big rifle if you want, it will do the job no probs. No rim fires or shot guns if your going out with a stalker. Otherwise most estates or stalkers will let you use their rifle, usually a .243. Theres definately good populations of muntjack in the counties of sussex, and you can shoot them all year round as they breed all year round. Not 100% on what the lower limitations are for munties regarding caliber size, sure someone will help with this. A charge of around 200 pounds (taken out by pro) for a munty, I think? Unless trophy...perhaps Hope this helps R
  19. Aye... lol. And after the rain we just had, I think its going to get thicker!
  20. This area has populations with black, and populations with white around thier necks or front leg(s). Sorry, but this is the only pic on my computer showing a blackun, was a walk around me farm last autumn, all shot with the air rifle. Good sport. A red-leg, four bunnies, a pheasant and a young gamekeeper!
  21. Its been an ongoing job for me over the past month, clearing a large warren of rabbits from a heavily overgrown bankside. The owner was asked by the neighbouring farmer to sort them, as he was suffering heavy crop damage in the field above. The spaniel was put to good use again, showing me exatly what is about and the runs that are used etc.. Heavy cover
