  1. 99.9% of sealyhams about today are bred for pet/show. And yes, they are fecking huge! They also look rediculous, with there over long coats. Working sealyhams, the few that are still about.... are pretty much like they always were, big variations in size, some of the bigger dogs were always broad heavey dogs, but some (esp. bitches) are a neat compact size.
  2. Now that a lot of my farmers have cut some grass, im busy on the moles again, which is nice! And although everyone is comlianing about the wet weather, it has only helped me! Im very grateful for it, as the ground is easier to trap in. Well, was setting a barrell trap this afternoon, and as I was covering the set trap with soil, off it went!! At first I thought it had sprung on its own, as I do have my traps very tikkle! But was amazed to find a mole gasping its last!! Also another strange thing happened in the same field... I cut a sod out, and uncovered a dead mole, fresh, but col
  3. Lovely to see those traps in such good nick! Could I butt in, and ask how much that trap dip was? PM if you prefer. Or can any similar, be obtained in this country? Many thanks DnN
  4. Thanks TT, nice team you got there, well done!
  5. hes a sealyhamish looking russell but hes about 12 now people who see him say hes an old time sealyham russell i dont no about hes breeding but i do no that hes been a belting working terrier hes not the smartest looking dog but he can work Alot of the sealyhams seen about seem to bare more resemblance to the russel or lucas types. I know of some real sealyhams in the norh east, there breeding programs are very well thought out , and as your dogs breeding isnt known, and he is too old to be given a fair working trial, im affraid i cant help you. All the best
  6. Nice Looks a handy size, hope she goes well for you.
  7. Aye it does look like pecking, make sure theres plenty of food and water, what size is the pen?? You may have to start releasing a bit early. Should be fine as long as vermin is kept in check.
  8. That dark ferret is just a dark from of european polecat, ive seen a couple of dead ones, exactly the same colour up here (border). Could easily be pure wild polecat or crossed with other dark ferrets. Either way the wild blood in it will be very strong. Wont have anything to do with crossing with mink.
  9. I really like those german hunt terriers, they seem to do a good job. Do you do much badger digging over there?
  10. I think its crazy! The whole thing!
  11. Im pretty sure you will find 32 off here to enter ( or at least I fecking hope so!!) If not it just shows how many messers and gob shites there really are on here!! I'll be hunting them down through there posts and publicly humiliating them on here!! I can provide some good rabbiting land in Tynedale, but must be early season, as its land I controll numbers on. Good luck
  12. Good on you! I honestly just bought my first record book/journal yesterday! Up to now ive never kept one......... and with my memory, I think I should have!! Regards DnN
  13. Is your dog a first cross russel sealyham, or just a rough sealyhamish looking russel? Got any pics of him? Do you know about his breeding? DnN

  15. Im from a bit further north, in Northumberland, got plenty of land, hotching with bunnies, but my lurcher isnt much of a rabbiting dog, so I wouldnt be entering.

I would have loved to get my lurcher on film, but since the ban, I dont think it would go down to well!
  18. Nice dog, he looks strong enough! should have some fun in the season with him What his speed and agility like?

  20. Awesome vids. thanks dotty FAO Timmmy, Cheeteh females are generally solitary, but cubs will hang on for a good while untill just about fully grown. Male cheetahs from the same litter will stay together for life. Hope that sheds some light on it. Need any more info, give us a shout!
  21. Have you been alone whilst lamping/videoing? If so, hats off to you! You have done well there!
  22. i'm with you mate... havent seen a badger in ages especially when my area used to be full of them... i also wouldnt give the government my consent to do a job on my farm specially when they denied any good terrierman to do it... and terriermen would have done for the job for free... how does this cull get funded??? is it tax money or money we pay for housing rates??? whatever the f**k it is, its a job that could have been done for free and just as humane... AND how much money is goin to be lost due to anti's sabotaging traps etc... last time i priced a trap it was £120 a pop each end
